    I'm with you on this. It did look like Gibson was going to take some sort of turn last year, but alas, here we are. Still worth the arbitration price this offseason, but no longer in consideration for a multi-year extension.

    Hmm, to each their own. I'm not a guy who analyzes wind ups, but his looks pretty normal. Pretty explosive in his lower half to get the velocity needed when he's 6' tall.

    How so? He pitched 6 or more innings in 7 of 17 starts while being over 2 years younger than the league average.

    The positive here is there are options. I believe 6 or 7 names have been mentioned on this thread already as potential high ceiling arms. The Twins desperately need 1-2 out of this group to be successful. I don't care which one of the 6-7 names does it, it just needs to be done. Otherwise these last 3-4 years have been for nothing.

    Food for thought: Tyler Duffey in his first full season as a starting pitcher pitched 6 or more innings in 11 of 18 starts in A and A+ ball.... Tyler Jay 5 of 15 starts, and the perception is he had a really good year.

    Agreed. Only pitching 5 or more innings in 5 out of 15 starts isn't ideal. That's my biggest pet peeve with Milone this year and the reason I want him gone from the organization. I get it, Jay was in his first full season, treating him with kid gloves, etc. For someone who's consistently written about on this site that his ceiling is so high, I had higher hopes for longer outings from him.

    I appreciate the article. Helps lower the expectations a bit... I have high aspirations for these players, but the expectations of all of these pitchers having incredibly high ceilings and being less than a year away I don't think is realistic.

    How many MLB players have played in 20 or more seasons during their career? The answer is...152! The article I found it on is from last offseason, and I don't know if there's any 20 year vets this year. So it could be a couple more than that! AJ's going to join that elite group of guys next year, don't you think?
