  1. Yep this is getting ugly in a hurry with Leidner. Inexcusable if you cant move the chains against Kent State.
  2. I think Berman only does one broadcast a season, and lucky for us we had to endure that. Someone should tell him to lay off the smokes, and Trent Dilfer was yelling the whole game like he just attended a concert.
  3. The smart decision would be to keep the redshirt status for Croft and just accept that Leidner is the only answer at QB this year. But the fan in me would like to see what the freshman can do with this talent. Granted I haven't seen him play a lick, but at least he's touted as a pocket passer. Leidner has set the bar pretty dang low on passing ability, so even as a freshman he could be better than Leidner right now. If there's any time to pull the redshirt status it would be this week, so the kid could get some confidence built up against 2 cupcake teams. Will we see it happen? I doubt it. More than likely Kill will go with the smart decision and see how the season turns out with Leidner leading the way.
  4. Would anyone pull the redshirt status from Croft and see if he can do any better than Leidner?
  5. I'm not sure exactly what Pinto's contract situation is, but if he's eliminated from the C conversation permanently, he's certainly a candidate to be removed from the 40 man this off season, correct?
  6. Only 1 game so far, but the Defense looks like a 10 win team, and the offense looks like a 5 win team with Leidner leading the way. I think it will even out to be a 7-9 win team. A good result by any Gopher team in the last 20-30 years, but missing the QB needed to be Big 10 champion material.
  7. Is there any science behind how you become right or left handed? I'm absolutely right hand dominant, but swing left handed for golf, hockey, and baseball.
  8. I get that. Back to my first point. If Kepler, a more polished prospect than ABW, has concerns on hitting MLB pitching, then ABW, an all or nothing player, currently on a month long slump I should add, is going to be better?
  9. And are we going to ignore the fact that he's slashing .193/.305/.339 over the last month in AA? If there's doubts about Kepler facing MLB pitching, who's a much more polished prospect currently, ABW will be humiliated on the big club.
  10. If that's the case then we need to start a "Pick-up Polanco" and "See ya Santana" ad campaign on TD.
  11. On the 99% club, the hitters are really the only thing of interest. I'm sorry but I'm done with Achter and Tonkin. They haven't proven anything except being AAA, borderline AAAA pitchers. Also hope to see Polanco get more than a cup of coffee to see if he's worth the hype.
  12. 2 bb/9 seems reasonable to me, but your prerogative on that. Can't comment on his pitch selection because I haven't seen him pitch... Can we stop using Aaron Hicks as a benchmark of what could happen to upcoming prospects?? You say Aaron Hicks...... I say Miguel Sano......
  13. Care to elaborate further on your stance that Berrios isn't ready?
  14. Correct me if I'm wrong, but i think there's an open spot already when the Twins DFA'd Fryer...
  15. Is He Ready? Yep. He's been ready for a couple of months now IMO. He's done nothing but dominate at every level. Not sure what else is left to check off the list for him in AAA....
  16. You're in god's country up there. Beautiful during the summer! My dad and I would take an annual summer fishing trip to Eagle's Nest Resort for some of the best walleye, pike, and bass fishing I've ever experienced!
  17. Have no fear ChiTown, I'm up for the Astros series. A Whine Line debut on the big stage in a crucial series? Clear the cache now, because TD's going to explode!
  18. That is ohh so delicious always!! Love it!
  19. I know how we can get him here. It's not something we can just piece together though.. We need some one who can play the saxophone, and someone else to sing. Next, start playing George Michael - Careless Whisper. Bark only answers to seduction techniques...
  20. If only Whine Line regular Bark was here to photoshop Miguel's face on that body... We deserve a realistic picture!
  21. What would a mini Sano look like? 4 foot 175 lbs of rock solid man?
  22. Love the avatar picture. On my computer screen you are REALLY into watching a video ad...
  23. Just a quick google search brought up this article.. And if these are the "best" rule 5 picks in recent memory, you may be right that it's rolling the dice in a losing game. One interesting note in this dated article, "teams made 232 selections in the major league Rule 5 draft from 1999-2012, which places the odds of landing an all-star-level talent at four out of 232—or 1.7 percent. Even if we count all 13 players above as smashing successes, the odds of finding another one are long: 5.6 percent, or about one in 20 Rule 5 picks." http://www.baseballamerica.com/majors/how-to-make-the-rule-5-draft-matter-again/
  24. Any thoughts as to why this hasn't worked like in years past? The Twins had sustainable success from unheralded prospects like Juan Rincon, JC Romero, Jose Mijares, Matt Guerrier, etc. And lately just can't seem to find the magic formula like they could before.
