    Maybe it's silly to focus on 3 games over a 162 game schedule, but it really feels like this is a critical moment in the season. Detroit is now 1.5 games behind us in the standings. Best case scenario, we enter Friday with a .500 record and 1 game behind Cleveland/CWS in the division. Worst case scenario, Detroit passes us in the standings and we're in 4th place with a mountain to climb.

    Wouldn’t surprise me. I expect a 1 day “fresh arm” call up tomorrow. He’s a 30 year old with a 6.55 ERA in St Paul but that hasn’t stopped them before.

    The closest I could get is half measure buys of a SP and 2 relievers on expiring contracts. All of that becomes a moot point if we lose the series to Cleveland. The next 3 games dictate the next 2 months and change.

    A 40 man move is required for that one. If we’re keeping it to the current 40 man it’s calling up either recently acquired Jack Anderson, something called Taylor Rashi, or John Klein for the 3rd or 5th time I’ve lost track.

    That’s likely the plan. If either one of them get pulled early this bullpen is in big trouble. This regime loves the fresh arm, which is how we lost SWR. They’re not gonna head into the tomorrow’s game without someone else who can pitch multiple innings. Adams and Fundy are toast tomorrow

    Maybe we see a courtesy call up of Aaron Rozek tomorrow. Hasn’t pitched since 7/17 and typically on a 4-6 day rotation. “One of us” from Burnsville and from my former Alma matter Minnesota State. Go Mavericks!

    The closest I could get is half measures trading for expiring contract pitchers. Twins need to win the next 3 games against Cleveland or else it’s over. Detroit could push the Twins to 4th place by Thursday if they continue their hot streak against the Cubs and Royals.

    I’m not sure why we’re surprised every year when this happens. Players have tendencies in their career, like Brian Dozier sucking eggs until June 1 then he went nuclear the rest of the season.
