    From a human standpoint, why would he continue negotiating with those teams after they balked on their original offers? He got all the way to the 1 yard line on 10+ year deals, to the point where he was going to do a press conference the following day in SF… then they come back and say wait a minute, we want to cut this contract by more than 50%? I’d say F off to them too.

    The St Paul Saints roster is not pretty if Correa has to head to the IL. Minor league lifer Anthony Prato or Dalton Shuffield are the only listed SS that isn’t injured.

    Yeah, but guys like Alonso just don’t see free agency… Nor do they sign reasonable 2 year contracts with an opt out after year 1. Besides, who needs him when you have AL Player of the Week Ty France for $1 million!

    I still have high hopes on Wallner breaking out as a slugger. He swings the bat so GD hard, the HRs will come in bunches for him. Buxton and Correa won’t be this bad the whole season. I have minimal complaints about the pitching. Once we stop pretending Paddack is a starter and call up one of the AAA starters I’ll be even more positive about that group.
