  1. it’ll be a player I’m sure. Just a little attempt at humor since things are getting a little tense as we wait for the next Passan or Rosenthal bomb
  2. We will agree to disagree on that. We are the slowest team in baseball. And that’s with the fastest player in baseball Byron Buxton lifting the average for everyone else.
  3. Fair point from Dan on why a return has not been announced yet. Who knows, it could be some of our favorite players like OF Cash Considerations or 1B Tobe Namedlater
  4. That is a monumental task for this current group of players. Unless the manager we hire is Jesus Christ to perform miracles, that’s not gonna happen.
  5. I hope Raya and Prielipp are called up tomorrow. Get their feet wet in the bullpen
  6. We will still have essentially the same starting rotation - Lopez, Ryan, Ober - the rest of the year is finding out if 4/5 will be one of SWR, Festa, Zebby, or another minor leaguer. We’ve had a knack of turning failed SPs into RP pretty quickly. The bullpen can be cobbled together with Jax, Varland, Sands, then guys like Prielipp, Raya, etc. I still have no idea what they’re going to do to generate more offense. That still remains the biggest issue.
  7. Fair. Who knows, maybe the Dodgers DFA him again once any of their 20,000 pitchers on the IL make their return
  8. The players have nobody else but themselves to blame for the fire sale. They’ve been playing lifeless baseball since opening day.
  9. Meh, does the control really matter for a 34 year old player?
  10. Sad but true. After today I will be taking a little vacation from watching the Twins
  11. I wonder if Jax stays now that Duran and Stewart are shipped out? Castro, Coulombe, and maybe a Jax trade is what I’m hoping for the rest of the afternoon.
  12. Brock Stewart back home to the Dodgers
  13. Kiersey’s bat can’t get any worse right? I guess we will find out
  14. I will miss him. Hope we prioritize signing him in free agency this winter.
  15. I will miss Bader. Him and Buxton were the only position players we had that played the game with hustle and swagger.
  16. Mason Miller traded to the Padres for a haul - 3 pitchers and #3 overall prospect in baseball Leodalis De Vries. Wow
  17. Agreed. Don’t half ass this sell off. Falvey started it, now he’s got to complete it today.
  18. Let’s keep the transactions going. Biggest decisions today are Jax and Correa. And we should probably trade away both. Then flip Castro, Bader, and Coulombe for whatever at the end
  19. Apologies in advance to the mods for being off topic, but we’re 13 pages into 1 trade of many that will happen in the next day. You’re touching the surface of roles that are affected. It’s literally going to be multiple millions of jobs today that will be extinct in less than a decade. Every single industry and role will be impacted. The only things I see as futures for young children are manual labor/service based jobs and getting extremely lucky in STEM.
  20. One of the biggest keys to a quick turnaround is solid starting pitching, and unless things change by tomorrow evening, we will retain Lopez, Ryan, and Ober to build upon. The rest of this season is figuring out who 4 and 5 are in that group. The rest of the group you mentioned have several candidates who could be bullpen arms next year to replace Duran, and potentially Jax/Stewart who are shipped out (Raya, Priellipp, Morris, Culpepper) Correa is the biggest decision tomorrow. If he’s open about being traded back to Houston I likely take advantage of that opportunity. We may or may not have talented hitters. What I really want to find out is how the team reacts with new management. I would fire Rocco tomorrow and A/B test how they do with Tingler over the next 2 months.
  21. It was my attempt to discredit an important accomplishment that you’ve earned vs. a fellow human because some program is determined to be more efficient or “better”. I want humans to still matter, and AI within 2 years or less will overtake millions of jobs previously held by humans. I am terrified about this technology disrupting the world.
  22. Why would I care about your human vs human accomplishments? You said yourself AI is way better. That’s pretty sweet. I like the computer more.
  23. Sounds like you’re not going to be a national master in chess much longer. Just like the journalists who were apart of mass layoffs because an AI program can slop together an article without getting paid money. You’re on the right side of history!
  24. Target Field might as well double up on profit as a funeral home for the next 2 months.
