    Noah Davis might be the worst pitcher to wear a Twins uniform in the last 15 years.

    It’s certainly his right to bet on himself if he wants to. Let’s just say for simplicity sake it’s an 8 year $80 million extension offer. You’ve got to have some real confidence in yourself to turn down generational money as a 21 year old.

    People act like Boras goes against the wishes of his clients. He’s got thousands of clients in MLB. It’s not a one size fits all approach. If Jenkins goes to him and says I want the guaranteed money and avoid the eventual arbitration cases down the road, Boras will negotiate the best extension for his client.

    I can’t think of a worse fit for Belichick coaching college kids. He will be a 1 and done in NCAA.

    Aaron Gleeman in the latest free podcast discussed the elite crowd that Walker Jenkins is now in. He also wrote about it. He’s one of very few to hit .900 or better OPS at every stop. Simply making it to AAA at 20 years old is a good sign that he’s a star in the making. I agree we should try locking him in for 8-9 years and have him on the opening day roster in 2026.

    You can add Bailey Ober to that list (which I assume is non tenders) if there isn’t a way for him to find 92-93 MPH again. That version is worth $7 million. The one we’ve seen this season is a non-tender.

    If there isn’t a surgery or recovery available to gain his lost velocity then yes, let him go. He can’t survive as an 89 MPH pitcher in the majors making nearly $7 million

    They can keep mailing it in the rest of the season. I truly don’t care what they do in September. It’s a gorgeous day off of work. Heading over to a friend’s house for a fantasy football draft later this afternoon. Enjoy the day!

    God forbid we add some guys who are rule 5 eligible this winter to give their feet wet in MLB. Nope. We get 3 guys who have been awful in 2025.

    Those are 2 different thoughts Mike. You’re turning him into a spreadsheet. He won a batting title on the team. Of course people are going to be happy if he ends up signing on the team. He’s not an immediate target but if he’s available late in the offseason for cheap why not? I don’t expect Larnach to be here to clog up DH. Do you think Clemens is better to keep around? There are plenty of plate appearances available for professional hitters.

    You gotta scratch your head when Mick Abel has a sub 2 ERA with 11 K/9 in AAA over 16 starts 89 innings and looks completely lost at the MLB level. There’s not much more he can accomplish in the minors so I guess let him learn in a long relief mop up role the rest of this season.

    Whelp. That will quiet down the Arch Manning hype for a couple of weeks at least. He’s got a lot of work to do as a passer. Looking forward to the Clemson LSU game later tonight!

    Arraez would hit the nostalgia feelings of better times while we toil away in 2026. Concur with @DJL44if we can sign him to a 1/$5 million or less contract I’m fine with bringing him back.

    I appreciate you bringing up this side of the argument. It’s an absolute mess in MLB - that’s why I am concerned the 2027 season will be lost in order to make major changes.

    He’s a trusty veteran I figured you would like that! 2026 is probably full of never will be prospects and DFA castoffs so at least Arraez hits the nostalgia feelings

    Hell, I’m extremely skeptical that Las Vegas will support baseball. That city has been getting crushed by lack of tourists. The tourists that show up have an abundance of other entertainment options besides a random A’s game on a Friday night.

    It’s really no surprise why baseball hasn’t expanded in 30 years even though it’s brought up every year. There are no cities available to expand where they can be sustainable with their local revenue.

    All of the other major sports in the US realized they need to be one for all or all for none decades ago. But baseball keeps dragging their feet. The Chicago Bears in the 1940s and 50s could have decimated professional football as we know it today because they were the large market and outspend everyone. But the league realized back in the 1960s that sharing revenue collectively was best to expand the game and league. If they decided every team’s finances are determined by their local market, Green Bay Packers would have been dead in the water.

    The NHL is easier to follow for sure. I’m thinking of concessions to make for the large market teams who will want to feel like they can gain an advantage.
