  1. Pictured: Milwaukee’s GM after telling Civale about the trade
  2. I’m open to trading for Durant. I think Ant needs another veteran alpha player playing with him. Who the Wolves trade away is the dilemma. McDaniels included in the trade would hurt the most. Either one of Randle/Reid is certainly on the table as a sign and trade. Gobert I think we would regret because then we become the team with no true center.
  3. Well this isn’t the fun background noise while working I wanted. Switching over to golf
  4. Corbin looks awful. Let’s tag him for 6+ runs before they hook him after 3 innings
  5. Left handed and breathing buys you so many opportunities in MLB. Patrick Corbin is a prime example. Since 2020, he has -1.7 WAR, 36-75 record and a 5.46 ERA. But he’s still getting the ball every 5 games. Madness.
  6. They’re a team you build in Madden with a 99 overall offense and a 60 overall defense.
  7. Getting anything for him at this point in his career is a win. The Pressly trade tree lives on!
  8. Left handed and breathing so sure, why not? I’m starting to feel like a cast member on the show Lost… 9 years and still no signs of this Falvey pitching pipeline ™️
  9. He’s left handed and breathing, so there’s some use for him in the bullpen.
  10. Just look back at the FA class last year and France is among the best choices we could have made. $20+ million guys: Christian Walker - .623 OPS with negative bWAR Pete Alonso - .928 OPS with 2.8 bWAR. Would have loved him but 0% chance Pohlads were extending the budget that much. $12 million guys: Goldschmidt and old friend Santana continue to defy Father Time with productive seasons for NYY and CLE $5-6 million guys: Josh Bell has been terrible for Washington. Justin Turner has been bad for Cubs Other guys in France’s salary bracket $1-1.75 million: Gavin Sheets is okay, Jake Bauers is okay, Rowdy Telez is terrible, and Yuli Gurriel is terrible
  11. This needs to be the end of the road for Alcala. No team in their right mind will claim him if he’s DFA’d today.
  12. My exact feeling after turning on the game 5 minutes ago
  13. What did SWR learn from his reset in AAA? Evidently not much.
  14. Just to show my work… Duran has 3.5 years of control left with an 8 WAR season under his belt already. He’ll be expensive. No matter who trades for him, it will include 2 top 5 org prospects, that’s a given. Then they will likely want young pre-arb pitching that’s already in the majors. Maybe they prefer Zebby over Varland, but with Varland they would get a legit late inning reliever with 5 years of control.
  15. I like it. He’s a nice complimentary player with Hockenson. Metellus is next on the extension list, then we won’t have any significant pending FAs next year.
  16. They’ll likely ask for Jenkins, and that’s something we would all like to avoid. My first stab at a trade proposal would be Rodriguez, 1 of Soto or Prielipp, and Varland
  17. Cal Raleigh may be bucking the trend that Seattle’s ballpark suppresses offensive production.
  18. I like that fit a lot… Devers to Seattle. They’ve been desperate for offense the last 2+ seasons. They should have paid up for Alonso for only money when they had the chance.
  19. Yeah, I don’t think they believe in a long man out of the pen either. The only time they do it is if they are winning or losing by 5+ runs. I think a decision needs to be made with Alcala sooner than later. They have minimal trust in him, and I don’t think he’s going to suddenly figure things out this season. I would let Alcala go and call up Dobnak to soak up innings when needed. If he ends up pitching once every 7-8 games oh well.
  20. Wouldn’t surprise me if Dobnak was called up again to fill the role.
  21. Adams was sent back to St Paul after the game yesterday. The piggybacking idea has been discussed a lot on this website, and always sounds good in theory. But for whatever reason, the MLB club never utilizes the concept.
