  1. Negative nancy says "Swarzak is your best option?"
  2. 2nd and 3rd and no one out. Boom!
  3. Either my joke wasn't funny, my sarcasm wasn't obvious, or something is wrong with me. I don't expect a response on this. Like I said in a different post, I really like the way Hughes is pitching.
  4. Wow, didn't expect that. That is great, 1st, 2nd and 3rd! I figured Hughes would be up there but oh well, he will eventually!
  5. Did you see the one I'm talking about? What did you think?
  6. I hope someone is keeping track of team-by-team reviews this year. Feels like we have had quite a few go against us. I was at the game on Saturday, was Dozier really out on the steal? I thought the view on the big screen looked like the ball was rolling around in the glove, what did it look like on TV?
  7. Okay, hang on here a second. I agree for the most part, but you agree Gardy would rather have a veteran than a young guy? Look at how he is handling his bullpen(tonkin vs burton)... Remember, a bad start for Gibson could plummet E.R.A to 6 ish...Which would be grounds for a demotion for a Rookie, but not a veteran with a contract.
  8. If Gardy/Antony would give up on Burton, Pelfrey and Correia we might have a chance this year, this offense is very fun to watch indeed!
  9. Unfortunately, I can see Gibson having a bad start next week and being the guy sent down, how big of a joke would that be?
  10. It's quite pathetic. I really like the way Hughes has pitched. He has been fun to watch. Gibson has shown signs that he could be really solid as a #4. He has had a couple bad luck situations in his 2 'rough' starts that will happen from time to time, but may have caused waves for him. Nolasco has an extremely long leash. I'm okay with him working it out, he has the track record to tell you it will get turned around. Plus, he has like a contract for a while and quite a bit of money. Correia and Pelfrey have been awful. I was pissed when we signed Correia last year for two years and I was pissed this year when we re-upped Pelfrey for 2 years. Think about it, how much money were we short on a couple guys like Garza? 6 million? I wish we would've tacked on the money we handed to Pelfrey on our offer and at least it would've given us someone entertaining to watch suck.
  11. Alright, it's time to make the move. Either one of them has to go to DL, BP or get cut. I don't care which one. I wish it was both, but I know we won't get rid of both, yet. If Johnson throws well, he can stay. If he doesn't then next man up. Deduno or Meyer would be the best choices IMO.
  12. How long do you let Pelf and KC give the team no chance at winning 2 out of 5 days.
  13. Exactly, it's baseball. They could somehow win 20 or lose 20.
  14. Without glancing at schedule, I predict .500 or better. Here is why. -Meyer might be up before the end of the month. That is good for at least a couple good starts from that rotation spot, which is better than what we currently have gotten from it. -Mauer is going to heat up and I think many of the guys in the lineup can sustain the same plate approach, which is going to help our offense even when their averages start to sink a bit. (Plouffe, Kubel, Suzuki) -Arcia and Willingham will provide sparks when they return, we haven't really hit for THAT much power, both of those guys can help with it, plus it improves our bench options. -Last night was a sign that playing time either has or will be shifting more towards Escobar at SS, whether that means Flo is going to Rochester or just going to the bench. Which means offense production is going to improve even if it is marginal (4 hits last night was not marginal improvement, BIG improvement) -I think Hicks is going to get it going, of course. EDIT: Wow, after looking at the schedule, It's going to be tough to do that. Only two games I would consider to be "easy" are the Padres, and they aren't going to be easy. Should be fun! If we are at .500 at end of May, I'll be excited. If they don't call up Meyer, then a .500 record at the end of the month with a poor pitcher still in the rotation should be enough incentive.
  15. 1) cut Corriea 2) Pelfrey to pen 3) deduno to rotation 4) call up Meyer 5) cut Burton 6) activate Arcia 7) send down Herrman 8) call up Willingham 9) send down Florimon 10) call up Nunez 11) June- sign Drew 12) cut Escobar 13) send down or cut Swarzak 14) call up guerrier(May deadline) -June- Hughes 2b dozier Nolasco. 1B Mauer Meyer. 3B Plouffe Gibson. DH Willingham Deduno. LF Kubel Perkins. RF Arcia Pelfrey. SS Drew Fein. C Pinto Theilbar. CF Hicks Duensing. Collabello Guerrier. Fuld Tonkin. Suzuki Nunez That might be a playoff roster....
  16. IMO it's a waste now to sign him. You've already gone without for a month. May as well wait another month, hope were .500 and you can promise him the starting SS job. Won't lose the 2nd pick, right? Or do you lose 2016 pick then? 2nd pick could be a guy like Harrison(freak athlete) so might be a good year to have that 2nd pick.
  17. Shouldn't be an issue now with two full days off.
  18. Agreed. My point was really that the Twins won't be afraid to cut bait, even if it's a few million.
  19. Okay. Guys. I'm back. We have 3 guys who are somewhat spendy and terrible right now: Burton, Pelfrey, Correia We have 2 guys who are optionable and perhaps have a future place on the team, but have been bad: Hicks, Florimon Now which one of them projects to fit into our future? Only one. Twins need to do what they are doing with Hicks right now in the majors, not AAA. They need to send down Florimon yesterday and they need to cut bait with one of those 3 pitchers for Arcia when DL is over. We can't afford to keep three pitchers we messed up on, when there are better options. I'd be okay with cutting Burton and giving Correia and Pelfrey chances. Anyone have the date we cut Marquis on a couple years ago? I'm pretty sure we won't be afraid to cut Burton or Correia, probably not Pelfrey though.
  20. I'm sorry to disappoint you all, but tonight and tomorrow I will not be posting ridiculously stupid comments here, instead will be making them live at Target Field. I called Dankind, ItsTimetoGetRehdy and Statfreak and asked that they each pick up a shift. Hope they can fill my shoes adequately. Go twins!
  21. So by my count, we have 13 people excited? That's great!!
  22.
