  1. I thought he was awful. This pitching prospect must be a real winner.
  2. When I went to general politics it was in 2017, had to make a post to get to the current discussion. LOL
  3. Couldn’t agree more Ewen. Nice to see owners standing up to the insanity. If the union calls that collusion so be it.
  4. I saw him berate enough Latino teammates that I’m not going to say he was a great person or teammate. I saw him scream at Alexi Casilla right on the field. Publicly trash Josmil Pinto, a great non-English speaking kid who couldn’t even defend himself. I’ve seen him stare down Rosario on atleast two occasions after misplays. It’s not politically correct to rip Perkins here, but I’m sticking up for these kids that he treated badly.
  5. And it's not the only time Molitor has done it this year. Which is why he deserves to unemployed with Mientkiewicz. Most of the time I'm in favor of pushing the starter a little bit. Not Colon. When he loses it, he loses it fast. Almost abruptly. Everyone saw it except Molitor.
  6. We must all remember, this organization has won ONE playoff series since 1991. Abominable. Embarrassing. Nobody should be upset with the old regime being purged. We need change badly.
  7. Spot on, and I'm not even a saber guy myself, but he has to be atleast somewhat open to it. As far as Dougy being upset with how they handled his firing? Whaaaaa. Get over it. Same for the Dougy lovers who are in full melt down mode. Falvine deserves a couple years before we start throwing them under the bus.
  8. And he's none to happy about it. Personally, the more guys they purge from the previous regime, the better. Falvine has a right to bring in their own guys. I really wouldn't be surprised to see Molitor fired either. Overall, he's done OK, but he's made enough questionable in-game decisions for me to be indifferent on him. Last night for instance. Colon was clearly gassed in the 6th, then he walks the lead off guy in the 7th. The writing was all over the wall he had nothing left, yet Molitor left him in a batter too long. Cost them the game.
  9. Absolutely not more than a one year deal. Despite his hot streak, he's gotta show more to deserve more than a one year contract. With the uncertainty surrounding May and whether some of these prospects are ready yet (Romero & Gonsalves) they almost have to bring him back. Honestly, I'd love to see them make an attempt to bring Colon back too. Still has something left, and great clubhouse guy.
  10. Falvine want to bring in their own guys. Can't fault them for that.
  11. So frustrating Pressly didn't realize where his fielders were and pull back his glove. The ball was hit directly into the shift. An easy out for Dozier. Pressly was actually very good otherwise. An encouraging outing. They will need him.
  12. Not a Grossman fan, but anything is better than Vargas right now.
  13. I'm just stating my opinion. Always love how ripping the wrong player and the claws come out with some people. Sure, statistically he was our best reliever ever. But is he the guy I'd want on the mound closing game 7? Nope. I made no mention of the 2004 outing that Gardy left him out there for three innings. I don't hold that against him. But he faltered late in 2008. Four blown saves in 30 days. That's forgivable. But to whine about the coin flip after he was a major reason it came down to a coin flip? Unimpressive. But the defining moment in his career was the A-Rod HR. He was on that mound trembling in fear. Throwing that meatball on a 3-0 count, after the way his team battled that night. In baseball terms, an unforgivable sin. Then the gall to blame the game on Cuzzi. He embarrassed himself even more. Careers are defined in the pennant race and in the playoffs. And that's where he failed. All the shiny regular season stats can't cover that up.
  14. He was a good pitcher for us, but my memories of him will always be his failings when it mattered most. IIRC, he blew a few saves in August 2008 which ultimately cost them the division. Then had the audacity to whine that home field advantage for the tiebreaker was decided by a coin flip. Had he done his job it wouldn't have mattered. And 2009 ALDS game 2 when he grooved a 3-0 fastball to A-Rod. Just a horrible pitch at the worst possible moment. The team had fought so hard in that game, only for Nathan to fall apart at the end. Then he had the audacity to blame Cuzzi's bad call for losing the game. Part of judging a player's career is how they do in the big spots. He had a good career but tarnished by a handful of chokes in big games. And not taking responsibility for them either. Guess I'm on a roll so I'll keep piling on. He signed for big money in Detroit and stunk. Then talked bad about their fans for booing them. Even gave them the finger once IIRC. Sorry Joe, you stink, you get booed. Take it like a man without lashing out at the people paying your salary.
  15. What's their timetable for return? Could be valuable additions.
  16. Desperately need Buxton back. Granite is flat out not major league caliber.
  17. Desperately need Mejia back as our 5th starter.
  18. Desperately need Grossman back at DH.
  19. Would love to have him back next year. The perfect fifth starter. Young pitchers on this team can watch and learn. Where would they be without him? He saved their season.
  20. I was sure Molitor would be more old school. I was wrong. I was sure he'd be more of a disciplinarian. I was wrong. Ended up being the second coming of Gardy. Alike in every way
  21. The way current day bullpens are used is downright blasphemy. They gotta have roles! Yesterday Belisle couldn't get 5 outs because Rogers is the 8th inning guy!
  22. So we take our current best reliever and make him closer, and he sits there for a week because there aren't that many save situations. But he's the closer!
  23. The cookbook sure worked good on Sunday. Heaven forbid you ask Belisle for 5 outs.
  24. By committee. The way its should be.
