  1. well, he's certainly not ready for 2016, since it's 2016 now. Offensively, he's not even close, which puts into question 2017 as well. So not sure what makes it odd.
  2. I know a lot of Twins fans who had serious concerning about drafting him for this exact reason. In any event, seems some aren't concerned at all about his time in the majors so far. I am, and I never had the really high expectations a lot of people had. I figured an at best ceiling of Eric Davis, but have my doubts he'll come close to that. Might end up like a Peter Bourjos type.
  3. or 2016...and very likely 2017.
  4. My guess is because it's Chris Sale. He's batting .216 against him for his career. Just as good a day as any to give him a game off. http://www.rotowire.com/baseball/vsbatter.htm?id=11438
  5. I highly doubt it. It's what happens when you finally don't get on base in a game. Last night was the first time this season he failed to do so :-)
  6. I was watching a game this morning and they were talking about how the umpires calling of the strike zone, since they've had all the new technology to evaluate, has gotten better and better each year. Something like a 93% accuracy rating on close pitches (obviously some are better than others).
  7. Except that a lot of what is being said by posters now about what has happened are about things they expressed concerns/doubts about prior to the season even starting. A lot of the things going wrong was easily predictable and was predicted by many prior to season start. This idea that every comment is just about knowing things in hindsight is not true at all.
  8. Only one of those things is a surprise, and that's the fact the Dodgers would pick up Fien :-)
  9. The first one, offensively, is big; however, defensively, that big difference gets quite a bit smaller. Pressly was with us last year (and for years before), but his role has been extended and results have been shaky. Abad has been very good so far for sure.
  10. Not sure how this team is physically more talented than last year's team. For most of the year, it's been practically the same team with the exception of Hunter out and Park in. Rotation has been mostly the same, the bullpen is mostly the same. Many fans (and apparently team ownership/management looked at this team based on Jim Pohlad's recent comments), saw we had 83 wins last year, figured the kids would be better and predicted even more wins. Sounds like they didn't even bother to look deeper to how this team really performed, seeming disregarding advantageous sequencing. Apparently didn't consider other teams actually went out and tried to improve while they mostly sat on their hands.
  11. usually hard to tell the difference between him bunting and him swinging away.
  12. like watching The Bad News Bears.
  13. He bought into the idea that the ball was in the air. He still sees no flaw in that. It's the ball's fault it was on the ground
  14. I HATE losing to the White Sox more than any other team. HATE IT! Getting humiliated by them (and our own play) makes it even worse.
  15. do some research that requires more than 10 seconds?
  16. how dare he not get on base at least once! Loser! :-)
  17. The young Garcia used to play RF, but it hurt their defense, so they moved him to DH for a better fielding OF?
  18. did I hear that right? did activity just now start in the Twins bullpen?
  19. here comes the hook. edit: Oooooorrrrr not.
  20. If he was a rookie, he would have been pulled innings ago. good thing he has such a strong history of quality pitching for the Twins.
  21. forgot how to run to first and his body lost muscle memory? :-)
  22. why was Escobar pulled? who is left on the bench??
