  1. except that NFL picks can pay immediate benefits. Its not like waiting 4 or more years for you pick to be ready.
  2. Trout is the best player in baseball and he cant carry a team. He has the same problem Dozier has. His team has no pitching. Its a myth any one player can carry a team, especially in baseball.
  3. Gibson is horrible and he'll be 29 going into the next season. Yeah, he'll be back and this time next year we'll be like, 'next year will be his breakout season'
  4. 'Better players peak earlier in their careers. While the general population peaks at age 27, the group of good players peak at either 25 or 26 years old. Hall-of-famers don’t usually peak — instead, they plateau. From ages 24 to 30, their production is generally constant. From then on, it drops at a high rate.' http://www.fangraphs...ar-hitters-age/
  5. When did Gibson fall under the pitching well category? Comparing to just starters or starters across the league. :-)
  6. Well, wow, does every team make it to the playoffs, even the bad ones? How many seniors graduated? :-)
  7. I sometimes get lost on how we are going to get top quality pitching. We can't seem to develop it. We won't trade prospects from our supposedly rich farm system for proven quality pitchers, and we won't spend what it takes to sign to quality pitchers. And, for some, we also can't trade our best trade chips for them either
  8. yeah, I was just answering a question :-)
  9. 'Buxton had a leg kick in high school, which the Twins muted upon their drafting of him in favor of the organization’s go-to “front foot down early” hitting approach. ' http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/instagraphs/byron-buxton-brought-his-leg-kick-back-to-minnesota/

  11. I'd bat him 4th, myself. Thing is, he's hit 4 HR as the first batter of the game. After that first plate appearance as the leadoff guy, there's always the potential to have runners on base when he's at the plate.
  12. JR Murphy is lucky he even got promoted. I wouldn't concern myself too much with how much playing time he gets this year.
  13. yeah, not sure there's a correlation there, but okay.
  14. This year he struck out 38% of the time. He had a BA of .244 and an OBP of .307 even with a very advantageous BABIP of .349. In AAA. Those kind of numbers don't scream promote, regardless of the HR and RBI totals. Anyway, I wish him luck either in our organization or another, but I'm fine with him not getting promoted.
  15. In AAA, he struck out almost 40% of the time, hit below .250 and got on base less than 31% of the time. It's not all about HR and RBI and when people complain about how someone wasn't brought up, they always seem to point to what a player can do and completely avoid what he can't do. BTW, another thing he can't do is win championships by himself. Teams win championships, individual players don't. And being part of a championship team doesn't negate the boatload of strikeouts. I'm not against him getting a cop of coffee in the bigs, but he has glaring issues with his game and acting as if it is some kind of slight he hasn't been promoted seems odd in this instance.
  16. we have to play .500 ball to avoid 100 losses.
  17. Well, I must say, one thing is for certain. Molitor doesn't try to use the same lineup day after day.
  18. You think he meant 200 IP mark? You know instead of 200 pitch mark.
  19. I still think Altuve wins that.
  20. No, but maybe up one more spot.
  21. Going into today, Dozier was 9th in the majors in WAR (for position players). And now he has two more HRs.
  22. So my two favorite college football teams, both ranked, lose in overtime versus un-ranked teams from Texas. Odds have to be astronomical :-(
  23. Going into today, only Altuve had a higher fWAR than Dozier (for MLB 2Bs)
  24. yeah, that slacker with only two doubles..
