  1. I know Stewart is only 24 but his MILB stats do not suggest that he will be successful at the big league level.
  2. That should have been an inside the park home run, no?
  3. Those are the 99th and 100th home runs given up by Michael Pineda. Give him the game ball.
  4. "And now he leads the Tigers in home runs with four."
  5. Using the old-fashioned "eye test," Kepler's low BABIP is obvious. He pulls everything, and grounds out a lot, and pops out a lot. If he learns to hit the ball where it's pitched, rather than pulling he will yet blossom into a top-notch hitter. Alas, we have only seen hints of that yet.
  6. Hitting .307 / .877 ... and he's still only 28 years old. (BABIP high, as noted).
  7. Like Tim Tebow numbers without God on his shoulder telling him when to swing.
  8. Too early to tell, but my money is on Polanco. He can stroke it from both sides of the plate. He's a fairly good SS. He will, in my opinion, win a batting title this year or another year. Only one player has that swing! And he's not cocky, but concentrates all his energy in what he's doing. Perhaps out new Rod Carew.
  9. Have you noticed any impact at all of the RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) program?
  10. 1 player (Buxton) in tonight's lineups is an African-American. That is 5%. Obvious, but I wish it were trending upward.
  11. Marwin, oh Marwin, oh Marwin ... MARWIN?
  12. But I would say that he has been consistently bad, therefore kind of good.
  13. How was that a hit? If it had nicked his glove it would have been an error, but it went under his glove so was it was a hit. Well.
  14. a note about the infamous "oven glove." MLB has not yet created a rule as to how long they can be! Ab-surd.
  15. I don't agree. I think Kepler is a place-holder at lead-off (as is Garver). The team is just waiting for Buxton, or someone else, to take it over.
  16. The Twins are interesting this year. They're watchable. They are going to get beat (maybe not like this) nearly as often as not.
  17. Why didn't he ask the red head over to watch the game ... then, when things went south ... etc.
  18. On a positive note, the Twins need just 3 more outfield assists to set the major league record.
  19. Both teams trying to give it away.
