  1. I want to adopt Luke Westphal since he wears number 33. Which is silly, but personally, it's not a bad pick at all.
  2. I'm going to jinx myself by drawing attention to my amazing jinxing abilities. One or two people may remember that I jinxed the perfect game the other day. Now look at V-Mart. He didn't even get a hit, much less an RBI. Hopefully I jinxed myself. Then I can root for the Tigers to lose.
  3. I was thinking Liam Hendricks earlier, but I guess that's getting pretty debatable now.
  4. Yes, I don't miss his lack of power, but he was a fun guy to have on the team. I mean, if we're gonna loose anyway... But now I'm being pessimistic, and I think that since nearly everyone else loves to predict a dreary year for the Twins, year after year after year, it is my duty to be optimistic whether it helps the team or not. At least I know that in the end I'll be right.
  5. 78% chance of nitrogen?! And what if the remaining 22% chance of having that 78% of the air we breathe also be other gases turns out to be true? We won't be having any more beautiful game threads on TD anymore. Or will we just have all new players and no TD members who were in Detroit at the time?
  6. I'm looking forward to that bunt single by Arcia. I think we should go a step beyond "Beat the Streak" and try to break the record for consecutive games with RBI. Assuming that the Twins are going to score today, who will get the RBI? Obviously sampleSizeOfOne picks Santana and/or Mauer. But what about the rest of you? I almost want to pick V-Mart for the Tigers. Will that jinx him? One can only hope...
  7. You tell me why he couldn't have waited just one more game to do this. :'( Does anyone else miss this dude as much as I do? http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/11493214/v60730783/must-c-clutch-revere-clears-fences-for-a-walkoff/?query=revere
  8. So why do you have to bring politics into a conversation about just another typical Joe West call? Maybe Joe West making bad calls is getting boring...? Who knows. And while I'd like to jump into a political discussion, I don't think that this is the right place to have one.
  9. Maybe Ervin Santana wanted to get caught using PED's so he could remain undefeated longer than Hughes.
  10. I guess we've all gone without REAL baseball for too long. While I don't think I've gotten negative (lately ), I know the feeling. We all need baseball to sweeten us up a bit, and for some reason Spring Training doesn't help. So maybe we should all visit TD each morning and look at the countdown until regular season starts, but not log in until that comes. Just kidding But we're ready for some REAL baseball. That's all.
  11. Always the Twins. Except when I remember that Morneau is on the Rockies now.
  12. As much as I would have loved to see May get the 5th spot in the rotation, I can't complain. I did make the mistake of calling myself "Always33," right? I guess I'm going to have to have a new favorite player now.
  13. What about those Giants? I'm pretty sick of them already. It's one thing if you win, but when you rub it in and act like you're the only one who IS winning (though in reality it's only every other year), you've got serious problems. Like the Packers fans who say, "If you're not first, you're last." Hmmm. I've got a perfect answer to that.
  14. Hmm, everyone knows that here is something both parties agree on: HC must not run because to the Democrats she doesn't have a good enough chance and to the Republicans she's a threat to the American people. I'm not going to disagree with either. But I want to add that the Democrats will be wise to snub her from now on. Otherwise the elections will be too predictable, kind of like the 2013 World Series. And nobody wants to be bored that time of year. They won't have any excuses for their bad behavior. Which leads to my philosophical hypotheses: There is no such thing as hyperactivity. It's just boredom.
  15. Hm, my top five is similar. It goes something like this: 1. Packers 2. Packers 3. Packers 4. Packers 5. White-Sox-Yankees-Dodgers-Cubs-Red-Sox-PAACKERSSSS. Assuming there are lots of professed as well as real Wisconsinites on here, I'll tell you now not to waste your breath getting mad at me. I can assure you that you love the Vikings as much as I do, only in a different way.
  16. Let's have issues together.
  17. Oh, that's not nice at all. If you want to say something about the Cubs, or any team for that matter, you have to look at the whole picture and make sure you're being fair. After all, it's not Bryant they've been waiting for. It's a WS Championship (or should I make it a little more reasonable and say NL Championship?). But good point. I laughed.
  18. Did anyone else see the jerk behind the plate trying to distract Ryan Pressly? He seemed to think he was real smart, but apparently his idea wasn't good enough.
  19. What if the fans started singing along to the walk up songs? Who do you think would be irritated, and who would think it was funny?
  20. That was Jonathan Papelbon. How about Heath Bell's "Bell's Hell" followed by Trevor Hoffman's "Hell's Bells"?
  21. My browser is Safari, and I noticed that I had the same problem when I posted my "Speeding up the Game" article. I was using double spacing after periods because that's how I was originally taught, and I copied it from a document and then pasted it into the discussion page, but whenever I just post a quick response on a forum I use single spacing and it works just fine. Hope this helps!
  22. As much as I would like to see Meyer in the 5th spot, I actually think it's going to be Pelfrey. He seems like the kind of guy Molitor would choose. Trying to be a genius without having the stuff, ya know. But who knows? Stranger things have certainly happened - and this wouldn't be the first time I was wrong about something The guy we really need is Sidd Finch.
  23. That would be wonderful! There's this one Venezuelan song that my brothers and I have always said that Arcia should use, so I would definitely use that for him, but the real fun would be picking songs for the Tigers. Oh how I would love that! I'm afraid I'd become known as a troll
  24. I understand that. But I don't mind bringing Torii Hunter back. I think he can help us a lot this year, regardless of the age factor.
  25. Lol, sampleSizeOfOne. But no, that's probably not quite the word I'd use. Boring, perhaps, but that wouldn't be your fault any more than it'd be mine, but not quite humiliating.
