  1. From the game recaps it sounds like Gonsalves is not still not comfortable with his offspeed pitches. Did i read that right? If so we need to keep his success in perspective as if those secondary pitches dont develop he is a bullpen guy.
  2. Gordon is really struggling. Any iea what is going on with him? How is he doing defensively?
  3. Staying healthy for most of the season is the key for him. So far he hasn't done it but hopefully this year is different.
  4. Disagree If plays at 3B and can handle the Defensive side of it he is very valuable and if he hits, he becomes one of the best players in baseball. If he is in the OF/DH/1B role he must hit really really really well to be as worthwhile.
  5. Whatever the Twins are doing with Meyer is not working. I think its time to consider moving him to a bullpen role.
  6. Turner's bat is a big liability. I hope he figures it out. If not, catcher looks to be a one of the few weak spots in the system.
  7. Its a bummer that the future of this club is hampered by bad contracts like Nolasco. Sending May down because you "can't" do anything with Nolasco would stink.
  8. It looks like something finally clicked with Kepler this year. Now he needs to prove he can stay healthy for a season and keep producing the whole year.
  9. I am confused by this comment. Are you saying you don't think he is a good prospect? Do you think the twins shouldve kept him in the low A? Is there a certain tool of his you dont trust? Or are you just trolling?
  10. Was Berrios originally # 3? Or was he moved up. If he was originally #3 that ranking is looking pretty good.
  11. I would remove the "slightly" from Harrison and just say "up." I would also say Turner is a "down." If he sports an OPS in the .500's his prospect status should crash to sub Eric Fryer level.
  12. 113 pitches for Berrios! Will be interesting to see how his arm responds next time out.
  13. As a 4 year college 21 year old he had 32 games in Low A and posted a .709 OPS. Now he is at the same level again but one year older and played 28 games and has a .761 OPS. Those stats are not great for a low A corner outfielder with his age/experience level. I am sure he has a good backstory and he is fine organizational filler. I was just surprised someone would call him a "favorite" because for me, it would be surprising if he makes it to AA. - I hope I am wrong!
  14. Really? Why? He is a an OK filler type but....he is 22 repeating Low A with a .761 OPS. I get the fact there is not a lot to be excited about in the position players at Cedar Rapids but what about him makes you excited?
  15. His story reminds me of Mason Melotakis who had a unique injury and many slated him as a fast rising bullpen guy. Twins made him a starter and now he is undergoing Tommy John. I get that the Twins hope he can start and want him to get innings to fix his issues. But with his mechanics it might be better to leave him in the bullpen
  16. What am I missing in regards to Brett Lee? I do like his GB tendencies but he seems most likley to be a LOOGY type.
  17. Gonsalves - I wasn't at the game but looking at the box score and there was 16 walks on both sides. I would speculate that the ump had an IRS audit after the game so he was trying to extend it.
  18. The video of the backflip is awesome Hopefully he integrates that into his pregame routine. A-la Ozzie Smith
  19. He is? I was under the impression he is a soft tosser who has to have perfect control to be effective. Is he even hitting 90 mph on his FB yet?
  20. Oliveros has 10.2 IP with 21 strike outs, in AAA. That is just plain domination. Shibuya has a nice start and is getting outs but Oliveros is just killing it!
  21. Wait, what? He only is throwing 2 pitches and most of it is his fastball? I thought he was supposed to be working on a breaking ball? Is he being stubborn and refusing the coaching staff's orders? This doesn't seem encouraging. I am glad he found control of his fastball but as he progresses he is going to need more than 2 pitches and is going to have to throw a breaking ball over for strikes.
  22. Gonsalves has 56 inning pitched at low A with 74 SO and 13 walks. I expect the org moves him up soon.
