  1. Dan Gladden opines that after these next 19 games, we'll have a better idea of where the Twins are offensively. It's almost like he thinks more data can help you make more informed conclusions.
  2. How despondent will the Rays be if that ends up being the only hit in a 1-0 Twins win?
  3. No no no, don't turn this on me. I clearly didn't ask how sexist are you, I stated how sexist of you--meaning anyone and everyone can make their own decision. I vote not very if at all.
  4. With Eddie batting, Cory Provus mentions that Eddie had a great time in Puerto Rico, playing in front of family and friends. Am I the only one who didn't know Eddie was from PR, and why didn't they mention that during the broadcasts of the games there?
  5. Sounds like someone just volunteered.
  6. So what you’re telling me here is that Dozier is ever so slightly better than Blackmon when Coors is not a factor, but Blackmon is massively better when it is. Unless the Rockies plan to relocate out of the mountains, or if we’re now saying replacement level players can OPS .1000 at Coors, why should it matter if the Rockies take the Coors Effect into consideration, given that, you know, they play half their games there.
  7. SSS this year, his righty ERA is 27. In 2016 it was 4.16, in 2015 it was 4.29. You have to go back to 2014 for him to have an ERA under 4 against righties. So perhaps the reason he only faced 31 righties last year is because he's no longer effective against them? And perhaps the Twins should relocate him to Loogyville BEFORE it's necessary, rather than after?
  8. The Pirates have NINE walks today. Fire Alston!
  9. If only Duke had given up a homer instead of a triple, he would, fascinatingly, be a Three True Outcomes pitcher. Every batter he faced would have homered, walked, or struck out.
  10. Last year Duke had an 8.22 ERA against righties. By all means, keep letting him pitch to righties, I don't see how this could possibly go wrong.
  11. Like Major Major Major Major from Catch-22?
  12. Yeah, we go way back. For awhile I actually knew him as Willy Nye, the wets-his-bed guy.
  13. Did Molitor not learn the "Duke Shouldn't Pitch to Righties" lesson on Thursday?
  14. Dozier just sent this over to me, and asked me to share in response.
  15. Hmmm, he may have done it wrong. Perhaps we should have had Dozier bunt.
  16. Danny says that in order to score Castor on a single you have to take into account the exit velocity of the batted ball, the arm strength of the outfielder, and the foot speed of one Jason Castro. I didn't realize Billy Nye did color commentary for WCCO.
  17. Danny goes off the board, and states his belief that Dozier should not be told to bunt. That's some great strategy there, Dazzle.
  18. If the Twins do come back to win this one, you have to give Lynn some credit. Terrible first inning, regrouped and gave us 3 more innings to give us time to adjust. I always hate it when the Twins get to a pitcher early, only to see him go another few innings, so I appreciate being on the other side of the coin.
  19. You're right, the players are competitive, and do have careers on the line, which is probably why Sisco was attempting to get on base any way he could. Refusing to take a free base hit because the game is out of hand is more indicative of a lack of competitiveness. I don't disagree there are unwritten rules (like not taking too long to circle the bases on a homer, or not gesticulating wildly for 20 seconds after striking out a batter), and that they make sense. This is just an unwritten rule that is utterly laughable, with no reason to exist.
  20. Oh definitely! If only 5 more guys would follow his lead and homer with the bases empty, we'd be in business!
