  1. Nice as it is, I don’t think Detroit Lakes can fix Lynn.
  2. I’d say it’s looking like we’ll be sellers come August, except I have no idea what players on this team will draw any interest whatsoever. Reed? Pressly maybe?
  3. Dozier’s success is tied to hitting homers, which is less helpful hitting behind the worst hitters than the best. Even when he’s going great, it’s not a good spot for him. I would absolutely say Mauer is a better option to lead off, and to be perfectly honest, I’d put Escobar, Kepler, or even Grossman (assuming he’s going to play every day) there, and let Dozier hit his homers/popouts from the 3 hole.
  4. What if a ball hits the foul pole, and bounces back into fair territory? Common sense would dictate it’s foul, since it’s not the fair pole, I would think.
  5. I like to think that the ghosts actually thought it was hell (for obvious reasons), but asked the other way, like when someone seriously hurts them self and you immediately ask if they’re ok instead of if they’re hurt.
  6. 1960, two years after Iowa’s only title. On another note, how much fun must it have been to be a Minnesota sports fan in 1960? A natty, and two brand spanking new franchises.
  7. Dozier’s OBP down to .333, and average to .255. His BABIP is not too much out of line for his career norms. Remind me again why he’s at the top of the lineup.
  8. Gopher Football National Titles—7 Hawkeye Football National Titles—1 You were saying?
  9. This is an easy one. A ghost is simply the spirit of a deceased person who has not found rest. As in heavenly rest. The ghosts are asking if it’s heaven because they have no idea what heaven is like, having never been there.
  10. So maybe we should have prioritized 3rd base defense from Esco, rather than 1st base defense from LoMo?
  11. Theoretically, if a pitcher was good enough to play a different defensive position, I would think you could have him pitch the 7th, play right field for example in the 8th, and then pitch the 9th again. I assume that would require you to either have a position player pitch the 8th, or lose the DH.
  12. "If you're Brian Dozier, you overcompensate for your shortcomings in the field. It's what you do."
  13. So, we essentially just traded LoMo for Esco--is Sano THAT bad at first that we need Morrison in there? Otherwise this move makes literally no sense.
  14. The Twins Bullpen: Pressly, Reed, and Hope You Won't Need.
  15. Correct, it would actually be a pop behind the plate somewhere, as a 90 degree launch angle is a ball that remains horizontal with the plate.
  16. More questionable bullpen moves by Molitor. Reed gets guys 6, 7, and 8 in the 7th inning, which forces Rogers to take 9 through 5 in the 8th, 4 of which are righties. Somehow it only cost us a run—we got lucky.
  17. Here's a question for the Twins Daily tech people; why do spaces not appear in between periods/question marks/exclamation points and the beginning of the next sentence in my post. Example immediately to the left of the word example in this sentence.
  18. I haven't been keeping track--is that the first 1-2-3 inning for Twins pitchers this series?
  19. Here's a thought--what if tonight we proposed just forfeiting tomorrow's game? We get to rest our bullpen, and we can fly back to Minnesota tonight to prepare for Friday's game against a team we actually have a chance to beat.
  20. My thoughts on hating the Yankees; I used to hate the Yankees, when they simply bought every player. There was no way the Twins could ever hope to compete against a team that shrugged their shoulders at nine-figure contracts, and laughed and spit on the luxury tax. I no longer hate the Yankees--a team that develops a lot of talent, and makes incredibly shrewd trades, as that's exactly what I would hope the Twins would become. So no, I don't hate the Yankees, but I want to be them oh so bad.
  21. Because it's hard to get real deer to stand still. Duh.
  22. Gameday is having some issues right now.
