  1. The two AAA Leagues would be the only ones which could put a Team here. St. Paul is to far north for the single A Midwest League. The South and the East is where you find the AA TEAMS. AAA Teams Fly, which allows them to be located throughout the Country. I doubt that the Twins would put a Team here. They would be competing against themselves.
  2. per Charley Walters "Twins starter Francisco Liriano would prefer to remain in Minnesota rather than be traded, he said. Major league baseball's trade deadline is July 31."I love it here; I want to stay here," Liriano said. "But it's not my call." 3. Pohlam Feild in Beloit is far below the standards of an Independent League Team. The Twins Should not be putting their Class A Team in a Park and Rec. dump. I hope they wise up on this one.
  4. A Team losing the Free Agent is given one pick between the first and second round. I stand corrected.
  5. Span has been playing with his Head up his A## the last few weeks. This cant be helping his trade value.
  6. The Twins may offer Liriano arbitration if Ryan does not get the Deal he wants. The Twins either get a high round pick or Liriano for another year. This could be a good deal for the Twins, if Ryan cannot obtain a good offer.
  7. Their Marketing works. We're talking Saints Baseball. Aren't we??????????

  11. Why not say free Agency! There is 25 million coming off the books next year. The Twins are no longer a small market Franchise. If you are not sure, go to Target Field and check out the prices.
  12. Its great to be buyers again instead of sellers!!!!
  13. The Twins still have to put out a Team in which Fans are willing to buy tickets to watch. If not, you wont have much of an Organization to talk about.
  14. In this Market, the Fans never seem to hear both sides of the payroll issue. Below is one example. In 2009, their last year at the Dome, the Twins realized a very large payday. Their revenue came in at 162 million. The Twins starting payroll was 65+ million. This amount was far below the 50% of revenue which the Twins have sold us for years. The Twins operating income came in at 25 million, which was the 9th highest in Baseball. Twins fans are constantly reminded about how the Twins overpayed the payroll last year. Did we ever hear about the large payroll under payment in 2009? As a result, the Twins earned almost as much in the last year at the Dome as they did during the first year at Target Field. Twins fans are constantly reminded about how the Twins overpayed the payroll last year. Did we ever hear about the huge under payment in 2009, which result in a large pretax profit for the Twins? 16. I believe the Twins are getting the cash from the naming rights for Target Field According to Bloomberg Business Week , the deal is 125 million over 25 years. That should more then pay for the Pohlad's personal contribution.
  17. Welcome to the Forum. You may currently be holding the distance record for a member. Forbes has a very fine group of forensic Accountants. I will wager that their numbers are very close. A sports Teams revenue streams are pretty easy to track.

  22. The point is (After paying out 113 million dollars in payroll, the Twins still realized operating income of 16.6 million dollars.) Where is the out of pocket expense? A 16.6 million dollar surplus to turn over to the Accountants is not bad.
  23. In 2011, the 16 Million is realized AFTER the Twins had payed out a 113 million payroll. The operating income number is taken AFTER operating expenses INCLUDING players cost.
