  1. If it doesn't require too many prospects to acquire Buherle, it would be a great move. He'd be a second pitching coach for the young pitchers and a great presence in the clubhouse and the community. And...it would drive White Sox fans nuts to see him in a Twins uni!
  2. I've had the same feeling all along. I felt the job was Molitor's to lose. I've read that Gene Glynn may not return to Rochester, so does Dougie move all the way up to AAA? Or will we see a chain of promotions that lead him to AA ball?
  3. I'm probably in the minority, but I think we get a bounce back season from Mauer this year. He will never produce the power that a first baseman traditionally provides, but I suspect we get slash lines closer to his norms. If so, and the Twins inch toward .500, hey, he could be a Comeback Player of the Year candidate!
  4. I'm so looking forward to November 3rd! Already pre-ordered!
  5. In no way am I questioning whether Dave Martinez would make a good manager, but whenever there is an opening for a manager, his name comes up. Yet he's never seemed to get past the early discussion stages. I just wonder what GM's see when they bring him in.......I still think it ends up being Molitor. I posted on another article that while most people dont buy tickets to see a manager, there is some financial value in naming a hall of fame Minnesota native/legend to the job. Not that this makes him a better choice, but it is there.....
  6. I couldn't agree with your sentiments more. I would be 100% behind KC, but then that feeling of envy/anger that it's them and not the Twins creeps in.........
  7. In the NL, anyone but StL and SF. I'm tired of always seeing those teams. (OK maybe a tad envious too) I guess I'll say LA because of the bubble machine. Now that the ALCS is set, I'm fine with either of those teams.
  8. My gut feeling is they go with Molitor because there may be a thought that going with a hall-of-fame Minnesota legend would potentially sell more tickets than Doug would. I realize that most people dont buy a baseball ticket to see the manager, but it's been done before (re. Ozzie in Miami).

  10. I live in Chicago so I don't get all of the local take on Twins topics. I rely on twins daily and gleeman and the geek. That said, I always assumed mauer would move positions one day, as Joe Torre did, as Craig Biggio did and I assume buster posey will do one day. So it happened due to precautions being taken. To me it was just fufilling the destiny I always figured for Mauer
  11. If Ozzie is hired to manage the twins, his sons need to be banned from the clubhouse and not allowed to share their "opinions" on Twitter. Living in Chicago, I witnessed his kids become a major factor in his undoing
  12. Well, I did say that the next manager needed to be outside the orginazation......
  13. I feel that the new manager has to be from outside the orginazation for it to be a true changing of the guard. Otherwise Gardenhire's firing was simply window dressing
  14. As a new member of Twins Daily, I am very intrigued and excited to check out this handbook. I will likely print off the PDF (at work, gotta be a perk to this job somewhere) to have a print copy.
