  1. And will any of us truly know if they do shop them?
  2. Which still could be better seasons than who we will be replacing him with. I also suspect he;d be pitching more innings than his replacement. There cannot be as many 2,3,4 inning starts as there have been this year. I get the notion of trading him due to fears about injury or performance drop off, but seriously the Twins need every pitcher they can.
  3. I really miss the days of the Twins caring about defense. They've become the White Sox team that those Twins teams used to own.
  4. I'd say it's pretty lucky Santiago and Berrios improve their numbers. It would be hard not to.
  5. I get selling high on Santana, but do we really want a staff with an ace of Gibson?
  6. I haven't heard of 222 pitches before, but throwing multiple games and ton's of pitches in town ball is not out of the ordinary. I'm a board member on our town ball team, when the playoffs near, you see some crazy stuff. When my son was 14 in two years ago, we played a game against Lake City. Lake City had a 14yr old left hander who threw fairly hard, and threw 157pitches in that game. That bothered me a lot, he wasn't an adult, his body wasn't fully developed like a 20+ town ball player.
  7. A known PED user and liar would be a good mentor for the "kids?" No thanks.
  8. I completely agree. It's scary to think fans actually want to trade him for a box of baseballs...
  9. Correct me if I am off, but I believe he was 7-47 before the leg kick and 7-17 with it. Extremely small sample size, but encouraging still. Getting him on base regularly should jump start this offense a bit.
  10. This topic sadly reminds me what is needed most, new owners. New owners wouldn't keep the status quo.
  11. I'm hopeful, but I don't see a month in Rochester changing a whole lot. At least he should have gained some confidence crushing AAA pitching. Leg kick? I'm skeptical, that might help him stay in balance, but I'm not sure that was the issue. He needs to hit the ball on the ground more and bunt on occasion. He needs to use all his skill set. Also, Bonnes thanks for throwing out the first pitch at the Hawks game.
  12. True, but I think any decreased talent in the next two or three years should be outweighed by being comfortable in everyday life and in the games. I know the human side of baseball is frowned apon in place of metrics, but this is my .02.
  13. I would: Trade Nunez tomorrow before the hot streak wears off. Trade the following: Arcia, Vargas, Dozier, Plouffe, Gibson. Probably would be able to trade two or three at most. Keep: Park. Too much money invested, he is playing better than I expected while making a huge life change to the US. If anything, I see him getting better. Seems like a smart kid who has his head on straight. I would be talking to the Rockies about AAA catcher Tom Murphy. That's my favorite catching name right now. Probably a long shot, but we could make a case with a package.
  14. With all due respect, Walker is striking out 50% of the time at AAA. He doesn't need a spot opened up.
  15. Fair enough, but then want value does he even have and why not put him in AAA to hopefully build some value?
  16. I like Rosario, but you are right about him. My problem with sending him down, is I don't want to see Buxton for at least another month. I want to see Buxton have a nice run at AAA to give him the confidence and show consistency before another shot. Kepler also needs to play, I see them both up for good at the trade deadline. I don't see what trading Polanco does for you. He can't have much value not playing at all. If you want to trade an infielder it has to be Plouffe or Dozier. I like them both and would hate to see them go, but they have some value. Would trading Dozier get you a good C or SP prospect close to the majors? I guess I don't know... I agree with trading Arcia, want can you get with a one dimensional guy? We need some more table setters too. Could Mauer, Buxton, and Polanco be those guys? If Gordon could get here in 2018, that would definitely help. We need speed.
  17. I don't understand a lot of the complaining about Rosario, Buxton, Sano, ect. They are doing what many on here were asking for. Getting the kids in the line up. The complaints about Ryan are valid imo. There is no plan, the calendar changed to May and the knee jerk moves started. The biggest problem continues to be the owners who are devoid of reality. Pohlad talks like he thought this team, this year, was something that is years away. Mind boggling.
  18. I'd bet my house this is the case. Makes the most sense as Kepler is just chewing seeds up here. A little time up here early to get some BP with the coaches and MLB players is nice, but it's time that he goes down and players regularly again. I would have rather they brought up Mastro, and did anything this winter, but I see why this may have been done. If the Twins continue to flounder in last place, they'll try flipping Murphy for a C level prospect. Not a big deal.
  19. Cool article! So, I knew the Twins traded Pomeranz. I didn't know we got Junior Ortiz for him. My question, is how did we acquire Joe Ortiz?
  20. I would have trusted him defensively over Santana in CF. They both likely wouldn't have hit. Thankfully we have Buxton.
  21. We are worrying about Tonkin getting claimed?
  22. With these projections of the Twins outfield, I sure hope the pitching improves because the defense looks pitiful.
