  1. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there is probably a correlation between high BABIP and exit velocity. It certainly gives defenses a smaller window of opportunity to field plays off of his bat. Not sure if that's the case or not, but it sure makes sense. Yeah, a .450 BABIP isn't sustainable, but he could maintain a pretty high one as long as that EV remains high.
  2. I'd caution you though. His defense isn't any better than Santana... Offense at least is looking to have some upside, but he may be a bat first utility player.
  3. I'm wondering if this is the result of Neil Allen's paper on fastball command, where Stewart is being asked to do a bit more than throw, but locate that pitch... I hope that's all it is. Otherwise, I think you're right...
  4. If by Kennedy you mean JFK or RFK... probably.
  5. I made it up for the record... but I think I'm right.
  6. fun with numbers, Gibson is 3 outs from a quality start. . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . closest he has been all season.
  7. either that or it's the blind squirrel and nut analogy.
  8. I don't know... but I'm thinking that Gibby is as close to a quality start as Chief is to getting a picture of Sasquatch...
  9. I don't know... may be they did that to draft Cook... or maybe I'm drunk...
  10. OK, let's stretch Duffey out tonight, 60 day O'Rourke, call up Hildenberger, and then bring Berrios up at the next 5th spot.
  11. spent some time in Albany recently... that's bad enough.
  12. nah... he's being showcased for a trade.
  13. I'd be curious what the exit velocity is for our pitchers.
  14. And the wheels on the bus fall off and off...
  15. but... admittedly, he's taking a lot more pitches right now.
  16. Buxton OPS is ... wait for it... .420 prior to this at bat.
  17. I can do one better. They are building one less than a mile from my house... Pretty sure that's a continual IQ upgrade...
  18. one more out and the ERA is back to 9.
  19. I'm hoping Molitor comes to the mound with a printed boarding pass for Kyle on the next flight to Rochester.
  20. Gibson is like the stomach flu... you know it's coming. You try hard to suppress it... and then it happens.
