  1. Vikings play the Lions Twins play the Tigers Packers played the Bears.
  2. I thought they had to use the same 25 man in the ALDS (minus injury)... interesting idea. I'd go heavy on RPs in that situation.
  3. Moya for another inning... Don't think we need to see the entire pen tonight.
  4. Hey now... older brothers are the bestest of all the siblings. They aren't annoying and only want what is best for their younger siblings.
  5. one game guys... and I'd add that that one game victory would do wonders for the "we cannot beat NY mantra." Molitor, please don't pull a Gardy.
  6. You aim to low. World Series victory in 2017...
  7. nothing a 1 game playoff wildcard victory cannot cure. One game guys.... one game.
  8. I'm surprised no none is crying about the Granite bunt in the 8th inning (though in his defense, the call was defensible)...
  9. good times... my hotel has the MLB network, and the Twins are on.
  10. I think you've got some lofty expectations. The average SS OPS in 2017 sits at .737 with only pitchers and catchers posting lower numbers for full time roles. The average MLB OPS right now is .753, making Esco slightly better than a league average hitter. .750 is a pretty good SS if the defense is average. Defensive wizards can get away with much lower hitting aptitude. I'm not sure I'd call Escobar a core player, but given competent defense and an ability to hit slightly better than baseball, Escobar is a very valuable 10th man and could be an acceptable starter for a lot of teams. Most teams don't have a player like that on their bench. I would, without question look to see if I could lock him up for a few years beyond FA if he was interested.
  11. yeah, the 91 squad was a very solid team. 87 not so much.
  12. since you are on the topic of the paranormal, we may as well add UFOs and Big Foot sightings to the list.
  13. SD wants to save the pen for more winnable games.
  14. In other words, go get an FA and do not tender Gibson.... what I needed to know. Thanks, A fan that wants to win.
  15. Counting the minors, he was double digit last year too. Truthfully, that's why you look at age relative to league. He's been incredibly young for his age relative to the league for his entire minor league career. That is a big reason why he was liked as a prospect.
  16. I think you might be the only one that interpreted it in terms of win/loss instead of 4th/5th starters The point is that Gibby is pitching way better than a 4/5 type right now... whether it lasts is a different issue.
  17. the question for me is whether he stays or goes. If Gibby stays, then I don't see the Twins going out and getting another pitcher. Personally, I'm not comfortable with that.
  18. I really do think that a good manager can contribute to a team's WAR just as a bad manager can put his team in position to lose. Molitor clearly didn't have his best game today, which is unfortunate.
  19. So is Moran a reliever going forward or his he going to transition back to starting? He was a starter before his injury.
  20. Should clarify I was referring to this time next year... not when lists come out early next year.
  21. If Badoo continues doing what he's doing, he'll be in the top 100 next year. Blankenhorn too I suspect. Rooker has shown the ability to quickly adjust to the pace of pro work. He started out slow in Etown and then took off. Same thing in FTM. I suspect he starts next year in AA, and while I don't see him in MN in 2018, I'll be real surprised if he's not in conversation for starting 1B in 2019.
  22. I'd note that it looks like the hurricane is now going to head up the east coast of FL instead of the west. That alone is a godsend (especially to those in Fort Myers, Tampa, etc). That will leave the strong side of the hurricane in the ocean. Miami residents are still screwed unfortunately. Stay safe.
  23. Last night, I was sitting by the Twins pen. Busenitz was warming up with Rodgers. His speed was noticeably faster (Rodgers hit 94 on the gun in his appearance for the record). So much so, I'd add that a couple fans that were sitting near by were drooling over his speed. You could hear and see the difference when Busenitz let it go.
