  1. Urena and Funderbrook combined for a Quality Start (QS) - 6 IP, 2 ER, I doubt it will happen again, but can we recognize!!
  2. https://zonecoverage.com/2025/mn-twins-news/twins-double-a-broadcaster-tim-grubbs-will-fill-in-for-twins-radio-on-next-road-trip/
  3. Need a flyball, and Clemens is swinging for the seat (which technically would be a flyball...)
  4. Cleveland doing a good Twins impersonation right there...
  5. Not a big metrics guy, but he was the only position player with a positive WPA last night, so this makes sense....😂😂😂
  6. I was listening to the Cleveland radio feed for parts of last nights game and both Ford Frick award winning broadcaster Tom Hamilton and Cleveland President of Baseball Operations Chris Antonetti both spoke highly of Falvey, praising his character and stating how tough the business side of baseball can be. Could Falvey be a little more forthcoming and honest with the fans; Yes. Does he have to be; No.
  7. Ober starting today, somebody's paycheck is getting smaller, and after last night, Julien and/or Gasper shouldn't be feeling to comfortable...
  8. Fundamentals, in-game adjustments, and situational awareness...who says coaching/managing matters
  9. MLB.com scouting report; While Tait’s overall defensive game is a work in progress, there's reason to believe he’s headed in the right direction after showing a lot of improvement behind the dish last year. He sets up well and his receiving has gotten better to the point where they think he could be an average defender in the future, pairing nicely with his plus arm. If that keeps trending in that direction, Tait should have no problem being a big league regular catcher in the future. FanGraph's preseason scouting report; Tait is still not a great defender, but he's gotten better each year. His receiving around the edges of the zone has improved substantially as he's climbed the minors, and he's athletic leaving his crouch and firing from all kinds of awkward platforms. He's not an especially good ball-blocker right now but, overall, this is a good spot for a teenage catcher to be. Doesn't sound like no potential on defense to me...
  10. I understand that many of the arb eligible players will not be here and even stated so. I was just pointing out that even with yesterday's big sell off, big paydays are looming for the "core players" that haven't panned out (yet?) and will require more front office moves.
  11. Looking at future payroll commitments on Baseball Reference, I don't think the fire sale is done and the team may be in this lane for awhile. Keep in mind that only Buxton and Lopez have guaranteed contracts in '26 and '27 and only Buxton in '28. 2026 - $96.2 MM ($97.2 MM if Topa's option is exercised). This includes estimated arb cases, room to add FA's but.... 2027 - $172.4 MM. Ober, Ryan, Larnach, and Lewis third trip through arbitration (Lewis also gets a fourth trip). Bunch of others reach arbitration for the first time, the low salaries get considerably higher. Several players will probably be DFA'd 2028 - $193 MM. Roster full of arbitration eligible players including Lewis's fourth trip. I think there will be several off-season trades to get '27 & '28 payroll under control, not to mention several fringe/role player's being DFA'd.
  12. Only Jax and Varland surprised me. The return on Duran has generally been designated as good by MLB people in the know. The rest will be determined by performance and if the players are given a chance, we all know Baldelli's proclivity to not play new players, or younger players, or players he has a grudge against for whatever reason. TK and Gardy had their favorites, but generally let the players performance decide who played, Baldelli seems to stick his pre-determined bias's.
  13. I respectfully disagree, but I am not willing to do the research to prove my statement, however I feel that I have read several threads on this exact statement...
  14. Funny how everybody on TD wanted a complete tear-down and re-build, and now complains that it happened.. What happened today was a total tear-down, Twins fans are not used to this, but they are doing what you, as fans, are asking for, and hoping to be competitive in a couple years. With any luck it will not be a Pirates, Rockies or Athletics rebuild...
  15. Pretty easy to be a keyboard warrior...maybe you stay there and let the adults decide what direction the team goes...
  16. What happened today is exactly what teams in full rebuild mode do, the Twins always seem to do a soft re-set and the fan base bitches when it doesn't work, today was full re-set and will allow the new owners, if there are any, to build their team, their way
  17. They have opened up a few spots today...
