    Introducing Baltimore Orioles right-hander Yennier Cano. He's no stranger to Minnesota, he was in the Twins system from '19 - '22... Even got into a 10 games for the Twins in '22 before being traded to Baltimore as part of the deadline deal for Jorge Lopez.

    You see a hit like that a couple times a week around MLB, bad teams dwell on things like that, good teams figure out how to overcome...

    Unfortunately they are also 12-21 in inter-league play, tied for the worst in the AL with LAA, and 15-19 against LHP, with only HOU at 13-16, also having a losing record against LHP among AL play-off contenders. Unfortunately the team has 15 inter-league games remaining, including 6 against division leaders ATL & MIL, 6 against play-off hopefuls PHI & SDP, and 3 against SFG, and it seems they always run into at least one LHP every series. If they can figure out how to beat the NL and LHP (and as the joke would continue, LHP NL teams), I would like their chances a lot more.

    The count was 0-2 and Clemens had swung at 3 out of 4 pitches so far. If you put the steal on you almost force Clemens to take the pitch or risk Martin getting doubled off of first if there's a line drive. You also don't hit-and-run on 0-2, so don't try that argument...

    I'm not a proponent of trading for Volpe (or Neto), just pointing out that many times people are quick to point out negatives, (Volpe also got thrown out at home on a "contact play"), forgetting that there are also positives...

    Same as others suggesting to trade for Volpe or Neto when Culpepper and Houston (and others) are close...

    Ted Schwerzler suggested on X earlier today the following: Jeffers and Larnach to NYY for COF Jasson Dominguez, a former MLB Top 100 prospect who has struggled in the majors, RHP Carlos Lagrange, a current MLB Top 100 prospect, LHP Kyle Carr and INF Stiven Martinez, both NYY Top 20 prospects. This sounds better than Volpe and Doval, but I'm still not sure I would do it.

    Tampa has Yandy Diaz as its primary DH, he's having a as good a season (maybe better) as Larnach. Larnach would be an upgrade over De Luca in RF however.

    Larnach will not bring back Lambert, he's having a better season than Ryan and you certainly wouldn't trade Ryan for Larnach if that was a possibility. Seattle is not trading Hancock, they are in the play-off hunt (almost every year) and he doesn't become arb eligible until 2028.

    Real easy to look back now and say they should have done it, but a AA LHP and A+ INF would have been hard to take last year. I'm sure the Twins wanted more than just those two (Duran? Anthony? Garcia? Some combination of 2 of the 3?) and BOS said no.

    You probably would have given up on this guy also, given his first three seasons covering 214 PA/192 AA; .219/.294/.380 (.675 OPS, 83 OPS+) -0.6 bWAR, not to mention the hands of stone in the field, 9 E, .943 fld% in 53 games.
