  1. Duffey better finish this because Smith is getting loose....
  2. Duffey is not the 9th inning guy, no matter how hard Rocco pushes it.
  3. I think defense because it was close at the time, then the second move for more offense because the lead was opened up a little more. And now Buxton in CF and Celestino to RF for defense.
  4. Hopefully they don't need the run though.....
  5. Miranda taking the extra base proved pretty big.....
  6. Hosmer used to be pretty good at picking those.....
  7. Correa gives the fans something to "BOOOOOO" about......
  8. Rough night on the ol' game thread when there are negative comments about Arraez...
  9. The team had to call someone up to give Correa the day off tomorrow....
  10. Gladden must be several Glueck's deep, he's being more brutally honest than most nights....
  11. Not really. His 4 previous starts he was 3-1 with a 2.05 ERA and 20 K's in 22 innings.
  12. Ryan's ERA just went from 2.89 to 3.77.... that's a bad night.
  13. Sometimes it hurts, sometimes it hurts alot.... Twins pitching seems to cure other teams hitting problems.
  14. Yeah, I gotcha. Was more of a dig at the posters that come on here and ask questions that they can find the answers to....sort of like you and I do/did.
  15. Trading Correa would be bad business. You don't sign a top 5 player at a premium position and then trade him. You will never sign a top FA again and you get put on alot of no trade lists. The offense, despite the tendencies to strike out too often and in poor spots, is in good shape. Maybe look to add a MLB caliber C since Jeffers is out until sometime in September. I trust the front office is in talks with teams in hopes of improving the pitching staff, and if no deals are made I will assume the asking price was too high.
  16. Why would you assume the Twins do anything different than any other team does? I would think most/all teams training programs are very similar. If you read MLBTR or check injury reports, the Twins are pretty much in line with the other MLB teams.
  17. Garlick rewarded with another start in LF. 4 games since All-Star break and Buxton (even after PRP), making only his 2nd start, is DHing again. After a big game last night, Urshela gets the day off. And the BP, after throwing a lot of bullets last night, will be called upon early again today. These are good times...
  18. The BP may be a weakness, but so is the BP management. The pitchers roles need to be defined and used as such. If Duran is the closer (I think he is) then he should not be brought in to face 6, 7, 8 in the 8th inning of a tie game. The bats may have gone silent and some bat at bats may have been taken late, but Rocco needs to put some blame on himself for BP mismanagement. And don't get me started about Smith (packaged with Sano to DFA for players to be named later).
  19. The BP is need of improvement, but I don't think Rogers staying would have changed much. In his last 21 games (starting with his 2nd BS of the year on 5/28) he is 0-4, has blown 4 saves (11/15), and his ERA is 7.52.
