  1. Picking apart the pitching and a few guys hitting does not paint the complete picture of this team, The defense is horrible; misplaying routine grounders, bad routes on fly balls, dropped fly balls (Buxton included), throwing to the wrong base and/or over throwing the cut-off man. And this doesn't include the weak arms trotted out to 2B and SS or the bad throws to the bases by the infielders. While I like the more aggressive approach to baserunning, a team that has been coached to conservatively run the bases can't just flip the switch, this team has been thrown out due to indecision on the bases and picked off at an alarming rate since August 1, many times that shut down a potential big inning. So again, the pitching and hitting are only part of the problem, they are pretty bad at most parts of the game or have the wrong bodies in important positions. Growing pains are tough for players and fans alike, maybe some of these guys can figure it out and the next group(s) of prospects don't turn out to be the next Julien, Miranda, etc...
  2. This Bailey is still only hitting 89 MPH on his four-seamer....
  3. I have been indifferent towards Baldelli up until now. I understand he has to use the players he has, but putting Topa in for Fundeburk was a very bad decision. Topa has not been good for awhile and Fundeburk has at least shown that he's been an average MLB reliever as of late. Hamstrung or not, Rocco is not making good calls as of late and should probably be let go.
  4. This team is hard to cheer for....
  5. RH batter in Keaschall, now Buck should at least think about stealing 3B...
  6. Larnach WTF with that 3-1 swing...
  7. Agree with whoever said Topa's stuff does not play well in late-innings...he nibbles when he should challenge...
  8. ESPN is trying to secure streaming rights to MLB games, including the 5 teams with no current local RSN, the Twins are pursuing ESPN...
  9. He is no where near as bad as he was early in his career and only seems to chase against the pitchers that have the most movement on those pitches now. The biggest concern I have with him right now is that he swings at the first pitch a lot, and as a lead-off hitter that's not a good trait.
  10. It only took Tingler 3+ years as bench coach to suggest it....
  11. Even Buxton not fast enough to warrant using the contact play...
  12. Matthews stuff is nasty, why does he nibble and let the batters get to favorable counts??
  13. Did ownership expect anything else? This team was set up to make a run for years to come after the 2023 season, then ownership (because they wanted to trim costs to sell?) decides to basically tear the team apart. If this is the current generation of Pohlad's idea of a successful business model, then the older generation is rolling over in their graves...
  14. Chicago brought their "Murderer's Row" tonight....
  15. Sinking faster than a drug-running boat off the coast of Venezuela...
  16. Hatch's change comes in faster than Ober's fastball, and he got little help from the defense...
  17. Ohhh Brooksie, you had 2B easily...
  18. That would be on Martin, the play was where he could see what was happening. Heads up cut by the Sox 3B though!!
  19. Larnach slashing .309/.387/.382 (.769) since his last HR on 8-11, but doesn't look like he can drive the ball anymore, seems like a lot of fly balls off his bat die well short of the fence lately.
  20. We're paying as much attention to game situations as much as the team normally does and we're making mistakes...
  21. Got it. I'm not quite 100% committed to watching the game...12 hour shifts, gotta get lunch and snacks together for work tomorrow
