  1. And maybe for Phillies fans to boo him... at home.... in a play-off game....in a series that Turner and Harper are struggling....(though so is he to be honest...)...
  2. He pitched twice against the Twins: 8/13/25 - 5 IP, 1/1 R/ER, 6/2 K/BB; MIN 4 NYY 1. Clemens hit a 2 run 2B and Lewis hit an RBI 2B in the 6th 9/16/25 - 4.2 IP, 4/4 R/ER, 6/5 K/BB, 1 HR; NYY 10 MIN 9. Outman hit a 2 run HR. This was the game that Rocco allowed Zebby to give up 9 runs in 3 innings and the team almost came back to win...
  3. 2020 Tampa beat them 3-2 in the ALDS 2022 Houston swept Yankees in 7 game series Moot point since NYY won last night...
  4. Didn't read all the comments, yet (long day of travelling), but my thought is he only needs to hold SS down until the All-Star Break at the latest. Culpepper is close, and the Twins promoted Keaschall after roughly 55 PA's at St. Paul.
  5. Make that 21 runs.....
  6. 19 runs in 11.1 innings will do things like that....
  7. Maybe its that good pitching beats good hitting thing....
  8. Agree on Martin and SWR, not so much Clemens, as mentioned earlier, his month of June skewed his overall numbers. I would also add Funderburk. Clemens slash from July 1 to the end of the season: 65/78 GP, .217/.269/.412 (.681 OPS, app. 87 OPS+), 10 HR, 26 RBI, 59/16 K/BB, 0.6 fWAR. I wouldn't exactly call that seizing an opportunity. Funderburk slash from July 1 to the end of the season: 30 GP, 29 IP, 3-1 W/L, 1 SV, 1.86 ERA, 31/14 K/BB, 0 HR, 0.6 fWAR.
  9. Get that rule out of baseball all together. The NHL doesn't do shoot-outs or 3-on-3 hockey in the play-offs , they play 5-on-5 until a goal is scored.
  10. A worthwhile collapse by the Yankees 'pen....
  11. One down... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/10/rangers-hire-skip-schumaker-as-manager.html
  12. Re-seeding after the Wild Card round is a good idea, allowing the top seed to pick who they want to play, not so much (and could be really embarrassing if they lost to their hand-picked opponent)
  13. A few other reporter's takes: https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/ranking-mlbs-eight-managerial-openings-braves-orioles-offer-upside-rockies-avoid-being-last-on-list/ https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2025/10/01/mlb-managerial-openings-ranked-best-worst/86457919007/ https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/3359388 General consensus from most articles I've read put the Twins in the middle of the pack for job desirability, my thoughts are that the team will hire from within or someone with previous ties to the team - Tingler, Conger, or Shelton
  14. https://sports.yahoo.com/article/pohlads-reveal-actual-mn-twins-153728622.html
  15. Cincinnati did not quit swinging from their heels at all that inning, not a very Tito Francona-esque approach...
  16. Correct. 79 MPH exit velo, .180 xBA and hit Duran's glove squarely.
  17. MLB official scorers are a ****ing joke!!
  18. It is a lot like watching the Twins play, 4 hits yesterday, 2 hits today, failing with RISP and 0 or 1 out, miscues on the bases and in the field, etc...
  19. If the team can PH Larnach for McCusker, and then have Keirsey PR for Larnach, in a "meaningless" game, then Buxton should have been available to either PR for Vazquez or PH for Outman with a chance to go ahead in the 10th, might have even made a competitive throw to HP on the GW SF...
  20. Baldelli writes out the line-up card, not Buxton....
  21. 567 PA was the next bonus. I would hope a professional athlete would never say he did not want to play...
  22. Forgot he also missed 14 games to ribcage injury....40-30 almost certainly would have been reached plus 100 runs scored and probably 100 RBI also.
  23. Getaway day line-up... Martin, Jeffers, Lewis, Clemens, Lee, McCusker, Fitzy, Vazquez, Outman.... What bonus's did Buxton have coming up that Pohlad benched him?
  24. Detroit and Cleveland in; Houston out. Guess they were the biggest collapse...
