  1. Because the other team has to respect that he could break out during any PA...
  2. Too many variables: having to slide, possible collision, having to pop up quickly if there's an over-throw, still only the 4th inning, etc... Being down 1-0 with Bell on deck may have been a good spot to try, but later in the game may be a better spot. But if he re-injures the hip, he's more than likely done for the season.
  3. Buxton looked pretty good running that flyball down...
  4. I don't think anybody stated or expected that Bell would lead this team to the WS, he was a low dollar signing who was expected to play 1B (he can't) and DH. He is 6th in the AL with a wRC+ of 141 and tied for 7th in RBI(with Clemens) with 45 since June 1. He is a big reason that the team is still in the play-off hunt, something not expected of this team before the season began.
  5. The whole team was not good in April and May - .235/.316/.385 (.701 OPS) 64 HR in 60 GM, good for wRC+ of 97. Team record was 27-33, good for a 73 win pace.
  6. Jenkins leading off playing CF for the Saints tonight. ERod/Emma not in the line-up...
  7. Jenkins will be here soon enough, whether its this weekend, September 1st or whenever Opening Day 2027 is....
  8. According to the metrics he was -3 OAA at 3B over 37 games, so, yes he was that bad at 3B. And, at least to me, the eye test confirmed this. He is -2 OAA in 51 games at 1B. Horrible? Yes, but that comes from learning a new position on the fly. Plays like the one today - he should have went to the base instead of going for the ball - contribute to that, but overall the eye test tells me he'll be at least average at 1B, if not better due to his athleticism.
  9. Yes, they could have probably overturned 7 pitches that were called strikes.... Though on the radio Atteberry or Gladden stated that they had asked Weiss about this and he stated that he didn't think the batters knew the strike zone well enough to challenge, but that he trusted his catchers to challenge when needed.
  10. Yeah, injuries really suck. He is due for regression today, his first two starts with ATL were very good: 12 IP, 1R, 1/ER, 16/2 K/BB, 1HR.
  11. The team has had plenty of guys do an 0-13 at some point. However, guys like you have them relegated to the DFA scrap pile and unworthy of another chance shortly thereafter...
  12. Waiting for you to put your money where your mouth is... Or maybe pucker up buttercup is more appropriate...
  13. No, despite your want for immediate information, they do not. They have a schedule for all of the prospects, however injuries, ineffectiveness, other players stepping up, etc... sometimes interrupt the schedule. Culpepper got called up early due to other SS ineffectiveness, otherwise he probably would not have been here until next spring. Jackson got recalled simply because Martin got injured before the team had a chance to evaluate Emma/ERod (however you may refer to him). Jenkins may have been considered for this season, but injuries and lack of results until recently tempered any possible promotion. He may still be called up this season, but he doesn't have to be, despite you wanting it to happen.
  14. They don't need to, despite what every TD user thinks.
  15. But you manage to come on here every time to let us know he failed... Good on you, batting 1.000...
  16. Regardless, this team was not expected to compete this season, the fact that the rest of the league regressed to allow them to be competitive should not influence their long-term goal concerning prospects. I get it, it's frustrating watching some of these players on the team right now, but why risk player control, health, etc... because the rest of the league sucked. Stick to the plan and allow the player's to develop. Rushing them accomplishes nothing, and may even hinder development.
  17. Most of the users that post on here seem to think that this team should be that good or better....
  18. Could you imagine Yankees Daily tearing apart arguably the greatest MLB team of all-time...
  19. Even the '27 Yankees were held to 3 runs or less 28 times....5-23 record, for the record. They were even shutout once...
  20. My experience was that the only parents that wanted to "help" were there for their kids and their kids alone. I would end practice if one of the kids parents showed up before the communicated end of practice. The kids figured it out and told their parents to not show up until practice was over. This forum seems to have a lot of those "helpful" parents on it...
