  1. Looks like both Chaz Chambliss and Elijah Williams made the Vikings initial roster. I thought the Phillips trade was a good sign for both of them. Bit surprised that Chambliss made it over Murphy.
  2. Vikes waived Gabe Murphy. Not a huge surprise but I thought he had a chance to be one of the last few roster spots. He looked good in pre-season games. I think the Vikings might keep more of the interior DL/OL than I had originally thought. I haven't seen that Huber has been cut yet.
  3. KJ Osborn was officially released. Not a sexy pick up by any means but he knows the offense. If Carolina's asking price for Theilan is too high, I could see them nabbing him for nothing.
  4. Yeah, I could take another LSU receiver. 😁
  5. Browns QB room is a mess but they traded Pickett to the Raiders for a fifth. Now they have 40 year old Flacco starting and once a DL crushes him and breaks his old man bones, they have two rookies for depth, both of whom have had their moments but both have looked absolutely awful as well. I don't think the Browns will win 4 games this year.
  6. Reports on Blackmon at camp were that he was struggling and had fallen to sixth on the depth chart. I had hoped he'd recover and improve on a solid rookie season but not to be.
  7. It does make sense. He's solid and knows the system. He looked ok in limited games last year.
  8. Very realistic possibility.
  9. I think I figured out part of my not understanding. After the Super Bowl but before the new season begins, the cap money still available (26m or whatever) can be used to restructure contracts for 2026 and beyond. Which makes it very useful. Perhaps there is more to it than that but that's one big plus, for sure.
  10. I think the trade means that the Vikings like the young DL talent. Redmond and Tryion Ingram Dawkins were both locks to make the roster but maybe this lets Elijah Williams sneak on or maybe a LB like Chambliss? Secondly, I think they must really like TID, he looked good at times in the pre-season games and he seems to be the power run-stopper they want.
  11. There are some really, really poorly run teams in the NFL right now - Browns, Jags, Jets, Colts, Panthers (maybe getting better), Giants. I'm really enjoying it. :-) I hope the Bears continue to suck. I think the Raiders could leave that group and surprise a few people this year and maybe sneak into the wildcard if everything breaks their way.
  12. I could be wrong but as I understand cap, unused cap space can be rolled over to next year. I think the Vikes want to move that 26m to next year, if they can. Again, I could be completely wrong here but that's was my understanding.
  13. I have to admit, I'm enjoying Target's struggles.
  14. I think their budget is pretty low so a guy like Cooper is probably out of their price range. Not a big Gabe Davis fan. He was solid when he had an elite QB but was really bad in Jax. I'd have Nailor ahead of him.
  15. More NFL news than Vikings news but the NFL has had a tough time in court recently. A few days ago, the Nevada Supreme Court ruled that Jon Gruden's lawsuit against the NFL can move forward without having to go through the NFL's insanely pro-NFL arbitration system. And now the Second Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that Brian Flores' lawsuit can also go forward with going through arbitration. "In a written decision, the appeals court said the NFL arbitration rules violate the Federal Arbitration Act to explain why Flores and other coaches should be permitted to take their claims to trial rather than be forced into arbitration. The 2nd Circuit said the NFL constitution's arbitration provision "contractually provides for no independent arbitral forum, no bilateral dispute resolution, and no procedure." "Instead, it offends basic presumptions of our arbitration jurisprudence" by forcing claims to be decided by the NFL's "principal executive officer," the appeals court said." Both decisions can be appealed to the US Supreme Court but the Court doesn't have to take them up, if they don't want to. I think both decisions are correct and generally good for plaintiffs.
  16. What I've read on DN suggests that they Vikes like a couple guys - Chambliss and King - a lot and need room for them. While Asamoah was big part of the special teams, the other guys might have more versatility. Also, releasing him now gives him time to catch on with other teams. Some pointed out that he was a Donatell type but didn't work well in Flores scheme.
  17. I don't really care about the Chargers but, uff-da. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45922404/chargers-lose-rashawn-slater-season-patellar-rupture Glad he got his extension signed though.
  18. He already resigned with the Chargers.
  19. I've kind of stopped caring about the Twins. Most of my posts on TD are now about the Vikings. I knew these Twins were going to be bad and boring - again. And they were. I've said for years that Falvey and Levine (who is gone) were given far too much rope and had completely failed in the jobs they were given. I suspect Rocco will be gone after the season and the new owners - whenever that happens - will likely bring in a new front office. Perhaps that FO will have a plan. Until then, I look forward to the TD article on why this was all Terry Ryan's fault.
  20. Yeah, as billionaire owners go, we could have had worse.
  21. I'm really sorry. That's a huge drop this year.
  22. I mean if he's healthy, he'd look really good in purple. But I think the Raiders put him on the PUP list. He might not be ready this year. (Also not sure if we have the cap space).
  23. Garrett Wilson also gets paid. 4/130, 90m guaranteed. That's the fourth most in guaranteed money to a WR behind Jefferson, Chase, and Lamb.
  24. Wow. Chiefs pay Trey Smith. 4/94 with 70m guaranteed. The Fries deal actually looks better now, IMHO. Interior lineman are finally getting paid.
