  1. Gore walks two to start the 2nd. 4 pitches later, inning over
  2. Wow. "We cant fire a demonstrably crappy manager because the FO will just hire another one."
  3. Also a visual representation of the Cleveland Browns in general.
  4. Over under on attendance: 22000 I've got the under
  5. That's where I'm at. Trade one of Jax/Duran? No. Both or neither. And if it's both, strip it down to the framing.
  6. We seem to have moved the goalposts from "more chances in the playoffs" to "more chances at the playoffs." That seems to me akin to saying the Twins are playing winning baseball.* *from Sunday through Tuesday this past road trip. In any case, back to the point. I won't speak for others, so I'll just say this: I don't want the Twins to lose. Quite the opposite. I want the Twins tonwin, but that seems to me a long way in the past under current management, and a long way off.
  7. Correct. Theres an experiment underway this year in the FSL (and previously in the AFL) that may change that. https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/45230307/mlb-use-hawk-eye-checked-swing-challenges-minors For the record, there actually is no such thing as a "check swing" defined in the MLB rule book. A swing is defined as a pitch "struck at by the batter.." That's it.
  8. Oh. Never mind then.
  9. The Polanco trade is a "win?" It's one of the worst trades in team history. Made a potential playoff team weaker. Ridiculously bad trade.
  10. More chances in the playoffs? They've been in the playoffs once since 2020. In the weak ALC, They've finished 5th, 3rd, 1st, 4th, and are currently 4th. One time above 3rd place. One. Overall theyre below .500.since 2020. I'll ask again...more chances in the playoffs? 2019 is a long time ago, and a strong argument can be made this management team had little to do wirh that roster. Nobody "wants the Twins to lose." Quite the opposite. Some of us would like to see them start winning.
  11. MLB umpires are easily the best of any of the major pro sports. Easily. They miss almost no calls on the bases. Umpiring balls and strikes is incredibly difficult. Yet they do a pretty damn good job at that, too. Yeah, sone pitches are missed. It's not intentional and for the most part it's not that impactful. A computer called strike zone is coming, simply because of the little box on TV screens. That little invention has created a monster, and it often isn't even correct. The top of that box is sometimes belt high. However, Newsflash: the automated dall/strike system won't get all calls correct and it won't stop the bellyaching.
  12. I wouldn't ever intentionally walk the winning run on base, but I certainly can understand your position in this case. And it's one i wouldn't blame Rocco for doing either.
  13. As for today's game, might have been nice to have your closer available. Too bad he was needed for 2 innings yesterday to close down that 1 run win. Eh Rocco?
  14. Still a pretty tough lineup. But that bullpen is putrid and any team playing Mookie Betts at SS ain't very good defensively.
  15. You're a bit late to the party, my friend, but welcome. There's beer in the fridge and I think there's some cheetos left.
  16. You heard wrong. Officially there is no such thing. The MLB rule book makes no mention of check swing. None. A swinging strike is "an attempt to hit the ball"
  17. Clearly defined? "Check swing" isn't defined at all in the MLB rule book.
  18. Actually I would have thought losing the lead bottom 9 would lower your win probability by MORE than 25%. Turns out Jax is actually doing well there.
  19. And I wouldn’t. Fair enough. It IS one of those sort of unwritten managerial "rules" though. You just rarely see it. Still and all, the bigger problem was needlessly not having Duran available today. And there's no doubt who is responsible for that.
  20. I also dont intentionally walk the tying run into scoring position, and the winning run to 1st, either. I don't care who is at the plate. Ohtani, or Babe Ruth..
  21. Anyone wanna revisit Rocco having Duran pitch a second inning last night??
