  1. They wouldn't have to "pull off something similar" had they pulled off that exact thing. Every day they wait thins the available pitchers and exposes the current pen to another game.
  2. So Buxton...finally dropped to the bottom of the order. His replacement, who has been worse, in the two hole. That's tough for an amateur like me to understand.
  3. Concur, and you probably got that from me. That's who he reminds me of.
  4. "WC" = Wild Card. Dodgers, Nats, AZ, and Colorado are N/A. I don't expect the Astros or Red Sox to be WC competition. to be more clear...there aren't several strong AL teams that will need to be beaten to grab one of the two WC spots.
  5. I don't agree it's a hard question. In fact, it's easy. They're in contention, for both the division and the WC. The season is half over. Cleveland isn't some juggernaut (or at least hasn't played like one), and there aren't several strong teams that need to be beaten for the WC. Find some help. Now.
  6. Dozier weighs in: http://www.startribune.com/should-twins-buy-or-sell-answer-is-clear-to-players/435092943/#1 I agree. It's the right thing to do on it's own merits, plus there is no guarantee some better time to add will magically materialize in the future.
  7. It's not a long term recipe for success? The last time the Yankees had a losing record was 1995.
  8. ESCO! I wouldn't be opposed to more runs here.
  9. I doubt you could get a really solid pitching prospect.
  10. The thing is, there's no evidence Polanco has "tons" of offensive ability. His career minor league OPS is .750 something, and his last real good season was in rookie ball. I think people sometimes see what they want to see.
  11. He probably wasn't available when the Twins picked.
  12. If did, but he kept the ball on the ground. I wouldn't have liked Mejia's chances of that.
  13. How do the Yankees have a LHer they can call up who can hit 97?
  14. It always baffles me when I read RBI aren't a valuable way to measure offensive production. Getting a pitch to hit, and often doing something with it, is absolutely a skill, and an important one.
  15. Today was Gimenez, not Castro. And both infield flubs today trace back to the manager not having his team prepared to play a major league game. That's part of his job description.
  16. They need that starter for next year, too. Why not get one now? Run differential means zero going forward, btw. They don't reset the W/l record at the AS break to "what it should have been."
  17. He didn't just start pitching in 2017. Look at the previous four years. It's doubtful, but there's a non zero chance he helps the Twins. A much higher chance than "those guys" IMO. There's a reason he was given a $12m contract for this season.
  18. With any luck, the next time they there'll be yet another.
  19. Can't speak for other mods, but I have no preference. Do both.
  20. http://static5.businessinsider.com/image/56d747676e97c623008bb0a1-480/bill-gates-windows.jpg Windows pays quite well, thankyouverymuch.
