  1. Its becoming more and more rare for teams to start the season with 4 starters. In the specific case of the 2020 Twins they start the season Mar 26 with 8 straight scheduled games (@ Oak and Seattle for 7 straight, then the home opener) before they get a scheduled day off. Then only 5 off days sprinkled through April. So I don't think they will even consider 4 starters.
  2. Hats off all around, but the bullpen deserves the lions share of the credit. Fantastic job.
  3. Rosario's monthy OPS has declined every single month this season. From .886 in Mar/April, to the current .459 in Sep/Oct. It's been a steady decline all year.
  4. What's false? They're temporarily down several players, but have enjoyed relative health through the season. They certainly haven't endured what Cleveland did. Nor the Yankees. And it's September, so there's no shortage of replacements available, it's just that the replacements aren't realistically capable of filling a spot on a team contending. The lineup last night was no better than a bottom feeder team...and that's at least partially the fault of the front office. As for the deadline, I called it the exact same thing at the time. They did the absolute minimum required. They banked on the starting rotation staying intact, and the lack of depth not to be a problem. So it's tough for me to give them a great deal of credit.
  5. When they've accomplished something, i'll trip over myself to give them credit.
  6. They haven't suffered more injury than other teams. When your backup plan is Lamont Wade, Ryan Lamarre, et al, it's on you. For one thing, they did the absolute minimum possible at the deadline. 2 relievers. No starter, no position help. They banked on health, and continued record setting offensive performance.
  7. It was obvious early that Gibson had zero command. Zero. Multiple pitches nowhere close, and way too many pitches left in the middle. I dont understand leaving him in to give up runs 3 4 and 5. Thay have about 299 relievers currently.
  8. With less than 20 games left the Minnesota Twins have a 97% probability of winning the AL Central and a 99.4% probability of making the postseason. heh.
  9. Team Season Home Run Record flags don't fly forever.
  10. I'm much more interested in Berrios' next start than pondering playoff scenarios.
  11. A quick mod note: we don't discuss moderation, or lack thereof, in thread. Take it up in the proper place, please, if you feel the need.
  12. It's a good thing, a really good thing...and a much needed change...if other teams come calling for Twins management personnel. I hope it's a regular thing every offseason. We should be so lucky.
  13. is that the night the twins hit 6...and lost?
  14. pffffft. No staying power for Bochy. Mark my words, this will be a here today, gone tomorrow type thing.
  15. I don't think that's really true. Certainly not in preseason TD threads, nor in plenty of national prognostications. It doesn't matter, of course, but I disagree anyone's "playing with house money."
  16. Really? Darvish has given the Cubs 157 innings of 108 ERA+ pitching, with a 1.13 WHIP and almost 11 K/9. 3.5 K/W. 2.69 ERA in the second half. I highly doubt the Cubs are looking to trade Darvish, but if they are, I hope Falvine are all over it. He'd be the Twins best or second best starter, now and probably next year.
  17. Hat tips all around. This place is pretty neat.
