  1. Well this went to Schlittler in a hurry.
  2. Don't forget the half-dozen top free agents we'll be signing
  3. If Zebby can get a 1-2-3 3rd he can push the dreaded "3rd time through the order" boogeyman to the 4th inning.
  4. Quick...run up on the plaza. There's a ball gonna land there in about 5 or six minutes
  5. 2 outs on 2 pitches, 17 pitches later we got us a run!
  6. Why would Martin throw that ball to 2nd on the double??
  7. The incessant need by some to shield Rocco from any and all blame is as predictable as sunrise. Sunrises aren't nauseating though.
  8. Baldelli is an objectively bad manager. Nobody blames him for talent deficiencies. But the Twins suck at pretty much everything he's responsible for. Everything. They've been awful at playing the game since shortly after he arrived. That's not a coincidence You can be talent starved and still play the game well. Or you can be talent rich and play the game poorly. Both of those situations fall at the feet of the manager. We should have all seen this coming when he made BP and infield optional when he got here.
  9. Let me be the 1st to thank you for educating the rest of us on where to assign blame and what that blame might be.
  10. As for the OP, SWR is a no-brainer. Hed make the opening day rotation ahead of any of the younger options. That's just the way Falvey operates. Established vet = MLB, younger guys in AAA as depth. I wouldn't be surprised to see Clemens and Outman make the 40-man. Not that they should, mind you. But again, it's the Twins. Falvey won’t give up on Outman so soon after trading for him. And what 1st base options are there? It wouldn't shock me to see Julien make it, either. Miranda, no chance of course. He'll find a AAA job somewhere, at least for 2026.
  11. MLB 40 man rosters are finalized in November each year. Rule 5 draft is December and 40 man must be done prior to that. I can't find it right now, but I remember reading somewhere this year's 40 man date is November 18th. Also remember there is no Injured List in the offseason. Anyone on a 60 day IL doesn't count against the 40 man during the season, but once the season is over, that's not the case.
  12. Keaschall has a long way to go to be even average defensively. It's certainly possible his extremely weak arm improves with injury recovery, but no sure thing. And that doesn't address his rather stone-like hands. Improving that's gonna take a lot of work, if it happens at all. But I'd say the juice is worth the squeeze, if he continues to hit like he has. Also no sure thing, BTW. Let him have 2nd for at least 2026. What's the downside? It's not like you're risking contention.
