  1. I can't even believe Chicago let MAT hit there... And Topa manages to give up a rope into the corner. Sigh...
  2. And now there's one single solitary person in the right field upper deck.
  3. Favorite movie "The Longest Yard??" Seriously?
  4. I think there are fewer than 10 people in the upper deck in left field. Seriously. Hard to get a full view but piecing together multiple looks I'm reasonably confident. Yeesh
  5. I wonder if the broadcast crew staying through the half inning is because they couldn't sell the ad time. That's been happening regularly recently. I don't remember that much in any previous season.
  6. 7 years into his tenure Rocco discovers it's legal for HIS team to steal bases.
  7. I can understand it given our crack bullpen and the importance of tonight's game...
  8. Shout out to those folks demanding to know the opposite of in.
  9. And I believe with 1 out it's absolutely the correct play. YMMV. Edit: you often see the contact play with no outs and runners on 1st and 3rd. Force the defense to make a choice...turn 2 or cut off the run and have 1st and 2nd, 1 out
  10. Not with no outs. Nobody runs it with no outs. Edit: BTW I'm sitting down.
  11. Should be fined for hitting a ground ball on a 2-0 count
  12. That cheap walmart-knockoff-looking Twins script is most certainly not the proper Twins uniform.
  13. Why? People in all walks of life put themselves through career changes in their 20's, 30's, 40's. Playing baseball for a living when you're young doesn’t entitle you to a lifetime of retirement.
  14. Maybe. No way he gets 268 Ws though. Maybe HOF standards will change. I guess they almost have to.
  15. Current hitters aren't "so much better." And Palmer would have the same training and data used to increase velocity today that others do. He was tremendous because he could pitch. He'd have the same ability today. He just wouldn't get to pitch as much. Modern baseball theory is hopelessly lost in many respects. "Pitchers cant be allowed to pitch" is one example.
  16. Yup. Jim Palmer would be an all star. But likely not a future HOFer because he'd be asked to do so much less.
