    Logan Allen hasn't K'd 6 hitters total since 2019. He has 6 already tonight.

    I'd think any competent MLB first baseman makes the play. He was playing in, a big hop that took him toward the line. The runner from third initially held, broke for home when Santana went to tag the runner. Tag the runner, spin, make easy 70 foot throw. Vazaquez nearly F'd it up by being a little too far in front of the plate.

    1. And? 2. Losing Polanco for Desclafani and Topa unquestionably made the Twins weaker. 3. As I said, if they needed to trade Polanco, OK. But don't make a trade that weakens the team.

    What are you gonna do? I mean, it's Logan Allen. 5.50 ERA and 1.5 WHIP. How are you supposed to beat a pitcher like that?

    Pretty tough to take seriously a team that bats Castro and Miranda 3 and 4. With Manny Margot 6th. Can you imagine the Dodgers, Braves, Yankees with a similar lineup?

    Well SWR pitched 5.1 innings to give up his 1 run, which didn't score while he was on the mound, BTW. The run that was charged to him got on base on a weakly hit infield single. It took Okert 2/3 of an inning for his 1 earned, and both his and SWR's earned runs came off a HR given up by Okert. I don't think those pitchers pitched equally well. Do you?

    Spot on. They made the Twins weaker with the Polanco trade. That was pretty apparent at the time of the trade, and even more obvious today. Trade Polanco? OK. But do so in a way that helps.

    Not to speak for RpR, but if you weren't saying players need load management to be rested for the postseason, what did you mean by this? "The Orioles and Yankees fizzle out in the playoffs. The Dodgers have only won a WD is a short series and currently have 12 pitchers on the DL. Atlanta won their WS with 2 players who did not play every game that year as ther series MVPs. With potentially 22 more games in the playoffs maybe there is something to the load management That's an exact quote from you in this thread.

    I have trouble blaming Joe Ryan for much. Should have been out of the first down 1-0. I don't know what happened to MLB scorekeeping, but a routine fly ball bouncing off Kirilloff's glove isn't a double. I don't recall ever seeing a MLB outfield have a worse series.
