  1. The 2015 MLB schedule is out and the Twins host the Cubs in mid-June. This series has a mini-FutureStars game feel to it. Which of these prospects do you forsee being on the Twins/Cubs big league rosters by then: Bryant, Soler, Baez, Meyer, Buxton, Sano? Maybe Addison Russell or Jose Berrios as long-shots?
  2. Do you see Alex Muren in a Matt Guerrier type role? Come in and pitch a couple innings of middle relief if needed. But, more importantly, being able to induce a ground ball double play in a crucial situation.
  3. Even though he didn't have great numbers by any means, how about a special shout out or secondary honorable mention to Virgil Vasquez? By all accounts, a great mentor and veteran presence for guys like Berrios. Plus, he did have the 2nd no hitter in the minor league system this year in August! Can't argue with the top six. Can't wait for the relievers and hitters!
  4. I'm a little surprised that Michael Cederoth didn't get the call from E-Town. Jonathon Mayo over at MLBPipeline moved him into the #20 spot on the Twins' top prospect list. Maybe he's closer to his inning limit than Curtiss is.
  5. I would go with teammates Reed #1 and Gallant #2. But you're right, you can pretty much throw the names in a hat and pick out 5! Some of the WHIP's on these guys are unreal.
  6. I think Seth does those tomorrow. I have a feeling I know who it's going to be...
  7. Lot of talk about Berrios, Meyer and May; and with good reason... but I'll bet we are also talking about guys like Rogers, Duffey and Wheeler sometime during the '15 season. Not to mention relievers like Burdi, Melotakis and Reed.
  8. Great seasons for Max Murphy and Jake Reed. It'll be interesting to see how far they can climb the ladder next year.
  9. If you had a chance to visit a major league ballpark that you've never been to before, which one would it be?
  10. Thoughts on David Hurlbut? I know he's been rehabbing an arm injury in the GCL after a promising start to the season with Fort Myers. Still a decent lefty prospect?
  11. Would be great to have Burdi up with the big league club next year. Fill a role like Betances with the Yankees. A power arm you can bring in in the 6th or 7th inning with the bases loaded and get a much needed strikeout.
  12. Kennys Vargas has been remarkably consistent at the plate in his first 15-20 games. With advanced scouting the way it is, when can we expect opposition teams to start finding possible holes in his swing? Are we rapidly approaching that point or are scouts still "building the book" on him?
  13. Due to his injury-plagued season, odds that Byron Buxton falls out of the #1 spot in the various post-season Hot 100 prospect lists? And if so, how far down?
  14. Is there a good chance we see Stephen Pryor as a September call-up since he's on the 40-man roster and has some major league experience?
  15. Are the Twins expecting Hinojosa to develop a little more pop in his bat as he gets older? Another one of those young free agents signed out of the Dominican at age 16. Looks like he's been spinning his wheels a little bit between the DSL and GCL the past 4 years. At only about 150 lbs he's going to have to get a lot stronger, I think.
  16. I believe Jeremy said the 40-man roster needs to be set around Nov 20th. The AFL season would be over by then.
  17. DAM DC Twins Fans - If you hit the "Quote" button it'll bring up a dialog box with the original message in a darker shaded area. Type your response in the white space BELOW the shaded area.
  18. I just hope he doesn't overthrow which happens to a lot of kids when they first get called up. Trying to throw 110 mph. A nice and easy delivery will do (easier said than done when you're amped up, I;m sure).
  19. By the way, does anyone else cringe whenever Arcia comes charging in to catch a line drive? Or maybe it's just me.
  20. I see Wimmers in a Swarzak type role. Long relief with an occasional spot start. But who knows, maybe if he goes to AFL they'll give him a chance to start.
  21. Good to see Hicks-y un-cork one last night. If he can continue to hit .280 or above in AAA that bodes well for his future. Also, love what Wimmers is doing recently. Trending up. Still think AFL should be considered for him.
  22. Thanks for the list, Shane! I would place Hu, Max Murphy and Turner a bit higher. Also, I'd find a place for Jason Wheeler in the 25-35 range.
  23. There's strength in numbers. Even if some washout it's hard to believe ALL of them will.
