  1. Offer all but Fien. That K/9 rate is trending the wrong way. Injuries causing the inconsistency? I think the frequent injuries are part of the problem. Better options out there through free angency or trade.
  2. The real question between Buxton and Michael is who spends more days on the DL in 2016.
  3. Nice. Also, quick and easy jump to the 25-man for these guys in case a two week disabled list replacement is needed or even a September call-up. Even a prorated portion of the 500K+ minimum major league salary is a nice chunk of change.
  4. So what's the financial upside for these 7 guys added? Guaranteed any coin?
  5. Good one. I was going to mention this also. Burdi, Reed, Meyer should have been expected to contribute - at least by the latter point of 2015. Hopefully the solid AFL campaigns by Burdi and Reed portends good things in 2016.
  6. Can someone explain to me how this works: Let's say you have a full 40-man roster (which you wouldn't, but just for the sake of argument). You then make a trade before the Rule V draft, one player off your 40-man for two 40-man players from another organization. Obviously, you'd have to cut a player from your roster but can you add a minor league protectible from another team? Just not from your own organization? Is that within the rules?
  7. For some reason I see Joe Crede of the White Sox (his healthy years) as a decent comparison to Trevor Plouffe. Similar stats. So, I'm not sure is that's good or bad.
  8. You mentioned Logan Wade as the fastest baserunner in the 2015 Twins draft report card. I'm assuming you meant LaMonte Wade?
  9. So far, through 25 prospects listed, I would have Mitch Garver and Aaron Slegers ranked a bit higher. But that's what makes this effort fun. Everyone has their opinion!
  10. This Jose Ramirez pimping on his HR late in the game could make for an interesting dynamic in tomorrow's game. Suzuki, Brunansky and Molitor were really on his case as he rounded the bases. Eddie Rosario even had a few words for Ramirez as he passed by him on his 9th inning shot. Look for a few brush back pitches tomorrow...maybe from both teams.
  11. I believe if Houston wins they would be 1 1/2 games up on the Twins, Currently they are dead even with the Angels at 83-75.
  12. Tough stretch right here for the Twins against the Tribe. Meanwhile, the Angels are hosting the A's for three. At least the Angels are facing Sonny Gray on Wednesday if I'm reading the pitching probables correctly. Frankly, I'm more concerned about the Halos right now than the Astros. Houston finishes with six on the road where they've been brutal this year.
  13. Twins must have received a waiver to send two A-ball players: Hildenberg and Garver. Eligibility Rules The eligibility rules to play in the AFL are simple. The roster size is 30 players per team. Each Major League organization is required to provide six players subject to the following requirements: All Triple-A and Double-A players are eligible, provided the players are on at least a Double-A level roster no later than Aug. 1. One player below the Double-A level is allowed per Major League team. One foreign player is allowed, as long as the player does not reside in a country that participates in winter ball, as part of the Caribbean Confederation or the Australian winter league. No players with more than one year of credited Major League service as of August 31 are eligible, except a team may select one player picked in the most recently concluded Major League Rule 5 Draft. To be eligible, players on Minor League disabled lists must be activated at least 45 days before the conclusion of their respective seasons.
  14. I guess I would have went with Aaron Slegers over Taylor Rogers. But maybe they felt Rogers didn't get the full developmental experience last year when he got hurt.
  15. Little surprised the Twins are sending two catchers, but happy that Garver is going. Mitch did a fair amount of DH duties with the Miracle so we could see some of that in Scottsdale too, if Turner is catching. Would anticipate one more catcher from either the Indians, BoSox, Tigers or Giants being sent to the Scorpions.
  16. This declining of the opt-out has me wondering about Michael Bowden. I know he's only listed here at 10%, but...
  17. I think Seth just covers the non-roster guys here. 40-man guys coming shortly in a separate post.
  18. Would be interesting to see at least two or three more quality starts out of Tyler Duffey to see if he is a viable option for a rotation spot in '16. If he is, then maybe you can think long and hard about using May as a power arm in the 'pen. Also, if May and Duffey look like solid rotation pieces going forward, do you put Gibby on the block this winter?
  19. You are correct! Four lefties in the 'pen.
  20. I thought O'Rourke was fine as long as he was used strictly as a LOOGY. But, maybe it's not his roster spot in jeopardy. Can't see three lefties in the 'pen though (Duensing, O'Rourke, Cotts). Plus Perkins.
  21. Thought I read somewhere that Pat Dean threw only 28 balls in 114 pitches. Unreal.
  22. Nice to see Sam Clay have a few solid turns through the rotation for E-Town. First 3 starts (since joining the rotation July 10th): 0-2 7.71 ERA 9.1 IP 10 hits 10 R (8 earned) 8 BB 10 SO Last 3 starts: 1-1 0.94 ERA 19 IP 14 H 4 R (2 earned) 1 BB 19 SO Quite the turn-around. The dramatic drop in his BB/9 rate really stands out for me. Maybe something has clicked for the former Yellow Jacket?
  23. Shane - yeah. Didn't realize Santana was added to the 40-man in November, 2012. Holy smokes, he's been in the org a long time.
  24. I don't believe Danny Santana is out of options next year yet. Arcia and Hicks are though.
