  1. Kepler seems to be improving every game. Remember when people were questioning his defense??
  2. OMG up to post 68 already! And a large portion based on something that looks like a large, green, exploding fart. http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2011/0217/pg2_a_stanford_tree_b1_200.jpg
  3. My recollection of Berrios, Chargois, and Meyer being called up is this: They were called up for a specific reason at that time [injury? poor performance by a RP/SP?]. What I also remember is when each of Berrios, Chargois, and Meyer was failing, NO coach or catcher went to the mound to calm them down. Everything was a downward spiral after that. Then came the obligatory sending of the Pitching Coach to the mound to stall until a RP was warmed up. The Death Spiral was complete. What I'm happy to see now: During the game, Twins catchers are making more trips to the mound and calling time outs to slow the pitchers down. Not sure why this took so long. Suzuki isn't exactly a virgin at catcher. He shoulda known.
  4. Twins Fans! http://www.cartoondistrict.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/most-famous-green-color-cartoon-characters.jpg
  5. "Bruce Banner is normally a mild mannered physicist, who happened to absorb massive amounts of gamma radiation. As a result… in moments of stress… he transforms into a large green thing with super human powers." So that the heck did Kermit eat to get those damn skinny legs? http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/1/19745/685899-kermit_the_frog.jpg
  6. If [and this is a B I G if] the Twins were to attempt anything with Mauer, it would be a package for Mauer to retire. Spread out payments over a series of years, with a bump beyond whatever is left on his contract. I just can't see Joe accepting that, either....
  7. There, I took care of it for ya
  8. In the next Pappy O'Daniel administration, these boy's are gonna be my brain trust! http://www.movieactors.com/freeze-frames/oBROTHER/obrother227.jpeg
  9. Day 1 of the Interim GM job for Rob Antony. Strib interview with Antony: http://www.startribune.com/interim-gm-rob-antony-ponders-future-fixes-for-twins/387547541/ It's about what you'd expect from a guy with >1 day on the job. For fun, I tried to locate a list of potential outside GM candidates. Here's one from 2014, and at least one in now a GM: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=23978 And another from a couple days ago, with some good selling points: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/despite-poor-2016-the-twins-gm-is-a-desirable-job-and-here-are-some-candidates/ I'm not in a speculative mood, but based on how things have been run in the past, I'd probably take a hard look at outside candidates. Change can be good.
  10. Well, that's at least some good news...
  11. big new is: Buxton was actually checking for the wall!
