  1. Looks like everything is starting to go in the right direction! Santana is now batting .270 Arcia, .276 Plouffe, .270 and a little bit of swagger Vargas finally over the Mendoza-line. Just need to get Dozier started.
  2. Told you Danny Santana was a great shortstop
  3. Why the heck are they bringing in Duensing? Really need to save his innings, for a change...
  4. Chicago White Sox: the gift that keeps on giving.
  5. I see Pelfry is imploding. Falling back to earth???
  6. How's Aaron Hicks looking? Is he getting it figured out or is he still having problems with the switch hitting thing?
  7. At this stage of his development, I really like the fact that Buxton is drawing walks. Give him another 20-30 games at AA and he's ready for the jump to AAA. Maybe MLB??
  8. Maybe he's finally healthy and showing the potential he's always had?
  9. Salcedo suspended 80 days for taking Tamoxifen, a performance-enhancing substance, and Heptaminol, a stimulant. www.startribune.com/sports/twins/301763801.html
  10. Major League Baseball was founded in Cincinnati in 1869. Worst OF in the history of baseball? In the entire 146 years of the MLB? There must be some kinda prize for that
  11. You wanted him, you got him! Congrats to Michael! Get well soon, Casey Fien. http://www.startribune.com/sports/twins/301776961.html
  12. Twins have really been moving him along! Very good stats at every level. Maybe a mid-year callup?
  13. Dodger's aren't nearly desperate enough to make a straightup trade of Van Slyke for Nolasco.
  14. I guess the big question is: Does Terry Ryan have a plan? The signings of several starting pitchers to longish term contracts, post injuries in some cases, makes no sense. The starting rotation should not even be under discussion at this point with the "quality" that is there. Ditto: Bullpen. Stauffer and Boyer? If Nolasco, Stauffer and Boyer [add Pelfrey, Santana and Milone when 1st acquired] were to be place-holders for the next wave of Starters and Relievers from MN MiLB teams, how is this going to work out?
  15. I with ya, Mike! But I have a problem moving either of them to the bullpen: Nolasco: 2nd year on a 4yr $49M contract. I'd trade him for a loss on that one before putting him in the pen. BTW: Dodger scouts are looking for a replacement for McCarthy and stopped by the Twins. Milone: many people here don't like him because he's a soft-tosser. However, he's been a successful MLB pitcher in the past and has had 1 bad start. You just don't throw a soft-tosser like Milone into the bullpen. Recipe for disaster. My solution is to trade both of them. The mess in the bullpen should never had happened.
  16. Time to rethink Kyle Gibson? 22.1 innings, 26 hits 13R's, 12ER's 2HR's 12W's 6K's .295BA It's possible it's due to cool weather. A sinkerballer typically throws better as the weather gets warmer.
  17. It wasn't his back, it was his scroilliac! Hey, that rhymed Any who, Mauer mentioned during Spring Training, that he had a bad left leg last year. So, right now, Mauer is healthy for the 1st time in a long time. I way we stop over analyzing and enjoy his ride.
  18. During Spring Training Mauer announce that his left leg had been hurting him last year. That would account for the lack of pulling the ball. The little I've seen of him, he's much more aggressive at the plate this year.
  19. Have you or anyone else here seen what Sano's throwing is like?
  20. Not by any definition of the term is Trevor Plouffe a journeyman. A journeyman is player who has just enough skills, on rare occasions displays them at important times, to continue to interest other teams in a non-starting role. Plouffe, from what I can see, has always been in the Twins system and a starter since, 2011. Maybe. He is an average player. "Superprospect Miguel Sano" ? The history of baseball is littered with former "superprospects". He and Buxton are not worthy of such nomenclature until they prove their MLB worth in the upper levels of MiLB.
  21. Ownership should strap Terry Ryan into a Twins uniform and make him play the outfield. Let him feel what stupid feels like
  22. "It’s a pity that he is 0-4. He hasn’t pitched perfectly but he deserves better than this." Get use to it. Hughes is a good, solid pitcher. And like so many before him, only in the Twins world is he an Ace. He'll be facing the top pitcher on almost all starts and the Twins bats will not be able to catchup with real Aces. Pinto should not be called up unless he's the starter. Sitting on the bench will do no good. But fear not: the Twins will be out of it way before July 4 and there will always be teams looking for a catcher. Suzuki is still marketable.
