  1. No, he already wants to be traded to a better team. LOL
  2. I believe Alex Meyer was sent down to make room for E. Santana.
  3. Best wishes to Doug. Seriously, who gets to live their dream for that long? But they had to make room at AAA because they obviously need to give their players some time there. Looks like Neftali Feliz might be available. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/07/rangers-designate-neftali-feliz-for-assignment.html But, of course, they probably have a deal completed for Troy Tulowitzki Will that forum and the one about Molitor ever die???
  4. With the Twins rapidly disintegrating bullpen, I venture to guess Berrios is the next callup.
  5. I was hoping he'd get at least one more chance. He got tossed into a real buzzsaw against the Brewers.
  6. I think it's pretty simple why Perkins wasn't put in: he couldn't get a Save. ok, ok, just my pet peeve, but it seems like every time Perkins is in a game, it's to pick up another cheap "Save rule #3a" save. #3c is another one, but Perkins will never pitch 3 innings..... Fan Graphs has a nice little article on Saves and a replacement for it: Shutdowns. http://www.fangraphs.com/library/shutdowns-not-saves-the-logic-and-the-leaders-from-2014/
  7. Ha Ha HA HA!!! Just couldn't resist Just think of it this way: Big Del will make Oswaldo look down right fleet footed!
  8. Agree. And I think the same thing about D. Santana as a CF, with probably a better throwing and hitting upside. I think we can throw in D. Santana will NEVER walk
  9. If Aaron Hicks is not the answer [again] maybe this is: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/07/orioles-designate-delmon-young-for-assignment-will-seek-trade-partner.html
  10. My, oh my. If only people had listened to me during spring training. D. Santana in CF and Escobar at SS. But seriously folks: how many OF'ers have failed this year? Who is the only current Twin hitting over .300? Why is SS a revolving door? I understand WHY they are doing this. However, to me this is a wedgie between are we going to be competitive this year and are we trying to hold prospects down in MiLB this year to get more experience for real competition in spring training next year. Anyway you put it, this is all on the Front Office! P.S. I said wedgie and I mean wedgie. Think about it wedg·ie ˈwejē/ nouninformal noun: wedgie; plural noun: wedgies 1. a shoe with a wedged heel. 2. North American an uncomfortable tightening of the underpants between the buttocks, typically produced when someone pulls the underpants up from the back as a prank.
  11. I really hope Aaron Slegers pans out. However, I see "6-10", "He has terrific control" and "He doesn’t throw hard, sitting between 90 and 92, but he has a good slider." and I say RUN FOR THE HILLS. We've seldom seen these types of pitchers pan out to more than a middle reliever.
  12. Well, July or not, I believe we're on the same page. When I wrote if the Twins can't use him I meant Twins management, not me. I am NOT giving up on May as a starter. That one was a comment by SwainZag. IF the Twins choose to not have him as a MLB starter, I'd prefer he be sent to the minors to stay stretched out and called up when needed. I just don't believe the Twins will be in the playoffs this year. This next week against Baltimore and Detroit could determine that. If Arcia is called up and hits 20 HR's between now and the end of the year, absolutely they could.
  13. I'll let you 2 duke it out I didn't say I'd give up on May. I said May is a starter, not a reliever and if the Twins feel they don't have room for him as a starter, they should trade him.
  14. IMHO: Hughes, E. Santana, Gibson and Pelfrey are locks. Milone has shown his metal and should be in the rotation. They need to consider trading Pelfrey soon. He's had a couple ugly starts, but if he get's straightened out, no way he resigns with the Twins. I would not waste time and effort trying to transform May into a reliever. May is a starter, if the Twins can't use him, trade him for outfielders. If Nolasco recovers from his right ankle impingement I'd be stunned. More auditions. I'd probably start rotating MiLB relievers into the MLB bullpen.
  15. I think the bigger thing for me is, that actually went out and signed a player like Javier.
  16. A cold slap of reality from Mr. P. Reusse. Ouch ! http://www.startribune.com/let-sano-concentrate-on-being-the-twins-dh/311355231/ Even Rand is backpedaling a little: http://www.startribune.com/sano-like-other-twins-prospects-needs-time-to-grow/311339931/ What I'm most curious about with Sano is how he'll react to being a DH, if that is in fact where the Twins will put him. Will he be able to maintain the level of concentration needed between AB's to be able to hit. Not many can do that on a full-time basis. Off the top of my head, Molitor, Ortiz and Martinez are the only 3 I can think of.
  17. Just when I was gonna start cursing both Arcia and Hicks names again, they done went and did something good.
  18. I'd be pretty stunned if Sano were successful in the next 3 weeks. Nothing against Sano, but what's the Twins recent history in moving a player from AA to MLB? If his hitting doesn't improve over 3 weeks, he needs more MiLB time (AA to rebuild confidence and a quick jump to AAA). If he really is successful (i.e. continued improvement, similar to Eddie Rosario) he's good to go the rest of the year and beyond.
  19. Miguel Sano HAS been called up. So sayeth LEN3 http://www.startribune.com/minnesota-twins-lose-2-1-to-reds-with-reserve-filled-lineup/311269081/ To me, it's pretty admirable what the Twins have done (41-37) with what they have. Sano is what will be a continuing line of auditions from the Twins farm system. They can't be happy with the 2 guys that were successful last year (Vargas and Santana) or Hicks this year (+2), Buxton not improving at least somewhat at the plate (now hurt again and out for a month) and the group of relievers that has been a mixed bag. Rosario is the only one really hanging in there. I wish the best of luck to Sano. The big club could really use it.
  20. That's probably the reason he was sent there
  21. Sano Called up: http://www.startribune.com/minnesota-twins-lose-2-1-to-reds-with-reserve-filled-lineup/311269081/ In KC tomorrow.
  22. I'm with Mientkiewicz. In the real world, Buxton would have stayed at AA for at least a little while longer, followed by time at AAA. However, in the alternative universe known as Twins Baseball, the MLB team ran out of outfielders, AGAIN! Seriously, why mess with a kid's growth when you got outfielders hanging around in Rochester waiting for a chance? Completely agree with "Next Steps". I still have doubts in his ability to hit at MLB level, mostly because of his front foot. Even with that, he hit this ball on the screws!! http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/69622576/v167167883/?query=buxton
  23. Meyer is still a mess. When your fall-back position is throwing more fastballs, you're in big trouble. I'd like to see a mean and vicious Meyer. A little sweet chin music here, a plunk on the butt there and an occasional "Juuust a bit outside" to keep batters loose. Right now, he's a bone in a dog pound.
  24. With consistent AB's, Nunez is living up to his potential. His defense has always been in question not because of Errors [ only 1 this season?? ] but because of some really bone-head plays in the past. His Fld% is .833, so not great, but not hideous. I haven't been able to translate out the advance Sabermetrics yet but his RDRS / yr is 92. But one article says fielding stats can be skewed by inconsistent playing time and playing different positions....
