  1. Thanks for the advise on the article, Seth. Amazing. Need to root for Jose! Also, a huge thank you for these reports by you and the other TD writers! I am a late night person, so I usually wait up until after they come out. I am constantly amazed by the quality writing and the dedication you show every day to the Twins and their fans. Some of us probably take it for granted, but it's hard to imagine anyone could do a better job of expressing his skills than you do! It is much appreciated!
  2. I'm hoping when June 1 rolls around, there will be some changes. One of my favorite guys, Oswaldo Arcia, apparently is not the answer for awhile. He hasn't gotten a hit since he was sent down! Again, I hope the FO addresses some of these areas BEFORE our guys have lose 5-6 in a row and are in a tailspin. Proactive is the word of the day.......
  3. I like those games when the Twins are up by,........oh,.... 10 runs!
  4. Santana is NOT a major liability on defense! He has committed a large number of errors, but none of those have even come close to us losing a game. He played out of position all last year, and hit well. We need to cut him some slack and let him adjust to the position. He'll hit.A major liability is Arcia trying to play somewhere in the OF, and I like Arcia. I might be one of the few, but I'm going to support Danny!
  5. Couple of observations: I think it might have been Tom Kelly who said," Every team is going to win 60 games and lose 60 games. Its the 40 games that are in between that make the difference." Tonight was one of those 40 games. Molly said after the game. " They got 5 runs on 2 swings." Our guys are not built to do that.
  6. The Jays have 4-5 guys that can legitimately hit the ball out of the park. We have at least a couple- but they are sitting at Rochester!
  7. Now, if the Twins get a couple of guys on base, we can look forward to one of the sluggers to..... what, not there?????
  8. IMO, Perk was distracted by the plate umpire. Don't see that very often. But it happens, and it's not the end of the world. Toronto can bash!
  9. Hate to, but have to give Cola credit!
  10. I know what's happening! Ryan told Mollie to use all of his relievers tonight so he could justify Stauffler, and the 13 man staff!
  11. Seth- if Jay was the pick for the Twins, any chance they would use him like the Royals did with Finnegan last year (this year only). Where would you start him? Chattanooga?
  12. Very interesting and spirited discussion! I have a couple of thoughts (opinions)- 1.) Nolasco is not tradeable, at least in our lifetime. He could throw no-hitters for the next 6 weeks, and it wouldn't make any difference. He's a .500 pitcher or less, with an unrealistic contract. Let's pray he will continue pitching well for the Twins, until he doesn't. 2.) If anything happened to Suzuki for an extended time, God forbid, the Twins would have to go with Fryer. I don't think anyone else, Pinto or Herrman, could handle the pitching staff. 3.) I don't get all the talk about Hammels, unless it's a generic thought about looking at what it would cost for a possible #1 stud. Hammels is not elite, and the mileage on his arm would scare the heck out of me. I'd look at the kid from Tampa Bay or someone his age that's established. And Tampa does have a history of trading pitching.
  13. I agree with Doc with regard to Stauffler, but that is not the way the Twins roll, for some reason. I would guess that Presley or Tonkin will head to Rochester.I agree, also, with the 13 member pitching staff thought . Molly has always said he prefers 7 guys in the pen, so I completely don't understand what's going on there. Off the top of my head, I don't think either Stauffler or Graham has pitched in the last week or so. They need another hitter to keep this streak alive!
  14. Are we getting jaded, or what? Jose Berrios got his 6th win tonight (6-2) in a 3-2 victory against the Biloxi Shuckers. Although he was not Stephan Gonsalves like (), Berrios needed 99 pitches to get the win. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 9 hits and 2 runs, no walks, with 7 strikeouts. He reduced his ERA for to season to 2.84. All kidding aside, his victory tonight was against a very good ball club, and he just continues to roll along as the premier pitching prospect in the Twins organization!
  15. Seth- our Arcia (Oswaldo) was pinch-hit for in the 6th. Do you know if that was just a managerial decision, or was something else going on? Maybe an injury or an attitude adjustment?
  16. The pitch to Ramirez was f-ing nasty! There isn't a hitter on God's a Green Earth that could have made contact to that pitch!
  17. Seth- you had mentioned in a previous post than Gonsalves would not be the next pitcher brought up to FM because of seniority. Can you please expand on that issue? Thanks!
  18. I think the difference this year is......... Neil Allen! Starting pitching has been phenomenal!
  19. Mauer fan, too, but Molly needs to try that. Maybe 5th or 6th. Who would bat 3rd then?
  20. That was a game that we ALWAYS lost.......
  21. Reverse psychology, come on Bucholz....
  22. If you are leading, is it still ok to ask for an appearance from the Rally Monkey?
