  1. Man, I hope it's not Garver- Twins wouldn't be that stupid, would they?
  2. You might as well throw Sano and Berrios in that deal.........
  3. Good for the "Fulda Flash!" Pat has always had a soft spot for SW Minnesota, and for that reason alone I love him! But his knowledge of baseball and Minnesota sports is unsurpassed in the Upper Midwest, IMHO. Really hopes he wins the award!
  4. They aren't listening, Dave, but have wished more than once you were in charge!
  5. Curtiss for one-don't care if he's on the 40 man or not!
  6. Bring him up to play CF, and send Buxton down to Rochester to tell him to figure it out!
  7. As I said in an earlier post, it's also possible that the Twins were not impressed with Carlson.
  8. My opinion is that the Twins were not that impressed with Carlson. If they were, they would have drafted and signed him!
  9. Twins need pitching. Wouldn't be disappointed if they take pitchers for first 10 rounds!
  10. I understand that, Steve. But wouldn't the team that drafted him at 15 own his rights, and say sign with us for xxx or go to college?
  11. Can someone please explain to me how the Twins would have a chance to sign Baz at #35? Why wouldn't he sign with the team that drafted him at, say 10-15 or so? I realize he says he going to college, but I don't get how he'd be around at #35?
  12. I'd go with Gore, too, especially if they could save some money to use with their second and third picks.
  13. You know the old saying," can't make chicken salad out of chicken ................ noodle soup??" Likewise, you better not expect to win games with guys in their mid 30's who have been cheerfully discarded by every other major league team. The Twins have been disregarding this bullpen for years: and what happened when Kansas City and now Cleveland showed what average teams could do with 'elite' pens? Nothing! Let's sign some old guys who will give this young team some leadership and experience. I don't think the FO or the fans expected this team would have the early success this season so far. But when winnable games are lost like the last 2 games, the inability to either develop young players or trade for them can't be hidden. I think it's evident that the organization has no confidence in their minor league relievers. Most of the guys mentioned in all the previous posts have been around for awhile. Let's sink or swim with them- not the guys that will be gone when this team is really good!!
  14. The Twins have only played 48 games. As Aaron Rogers would say -RELAX! These are the guys that always break our hearts!!
  15. It's just one outing, but he was magnificent! Not bad for a #3 or #4 starter!!
  16. How many of the following are on another major league roster? Wilk Breslow Haley Presley Tepesch So the pitchers at AAA or AA are worse than these guys?
  17. Apparently the new front office's philosophy is to pick up cast-offs from other teams and hope they'll end up with some "diamonds in the rough." We were told for years that the young guys the Twins drafted 3-4 years ago would be studs. They've stock piled hard throwers who were supposed to be the Twins' future stars. So instead, we choose a guy who was released from the Mets so they could start Tommy f-ing Malone? This organization is a disgrace! The only saving grace will be that the team will be so awful no one will come to watch, and then maybe they can get serious about putting a decent product on the field.
  18. I can hardly wait to read all the TD posters exclaiming sheer exhilaration over the DFA of Danny Santana. Can hardly believe all the hate this kid has endured. He really screwed up by having such a good rookie season: after that year, you'd think the kid had a contagious case of leprosy! The front office doesn't owe me any explanations, but IMHO then Twins now have four pitchers-Rucinsky, Tonkin, Bleslow, and Tepesch-who would not make another major league roster. It would be nice to see guys that would be prominent to their success in the future.
  19. I've been following these two lefties since they were drafted, and believe they are injured right now. Would someone please let me know your thoughts and the prospect of them pitching in the near future, not for an extended period, or not at all this year? Thanks!
  20. I've given up trying to figure out this team. I'd rather spend time knocking my head against the wall!
  21. I wonder how the Twins are going to sell tickets. The novelty of seeing games at Target Field is gone. Coming out of spring training, this is not an exciting group to watch, nor is it a team that is going to win games. Honestly, I have lost interest in this organization: you can say they did little, if anything (other than the Castro signing) to improve the team over the winter. They have made the roster older. The Park move is mind-boggling ( if you are trying to put the best players on the field to start the season). Their 3 man bench consists of 2 utility guys and a back-up catcher. The organization's roster construction is just bizarre! The TD partisans will beg us to give the new regime time. How long do we have to wait for this team to field a major league product?
  22. Pats win 28-13 Danny Amendola- 3 TD's, 180 yards receiving.
  23. Here's another angle that I have been wondering about. Unfortunately, it looks like I will be unable to make it to the Twins Diamonds Awards banquet and Twins Fest that is coming up in a couple of weeks. The reason I bring that up is that Dozier is getting like 15 awards at the Awards banquet, and it will be very interesting to see how that plays out depending on Dozier's status. The awards are, as Joe Biden says, are a big F- ing deal and one of the ways the Twins promote the upcoming season. I can't imagine how uncomfortable it would be for both parties if Dozier is still a Twin. This would add to the general unrest of the fans who are looking at a team that is basically bringing back the same cast of characters, less one catcher, that lost 103 games last year, and was pretty much an embarrassment to the state of Minnesota.
