    It is too bad we are relying on Zoll for this draft. This is where Tom P. has failed this organization, he should have brought in at least a senior advisor. Zoll is not ready for this moment and I hope he doesn't try and get cute.

    I posted a similar comment about Gray in the article about him, but today's lineup is proof that Kreidler is not going to be our everyday shortstop until Culpepper is healthy and ready. Gray is starting for the second day in a row at SS and they are going to ride primarily with him. The Twins obviously think Gray has something to offer and that is that he bats LH. They do not appear to value competence, just what side of the plate they hit from. The sooner Zoll is gone and replaced by a competent baseball executive will be too soon. This is analytics gone wild.

    This article has not aged well at all, he is starting again for the second straight game. The Twins obviously think Gray has something to offer and that is that he bats LH.     Six AB's and four strikeouts in his last two games when he was obviously pressing after not getting an AB for 12 days. Look I don't know if Fedko is a AAAA type or if he can be a productive player in the big leagues but he was given no real chance. And he isn't the first they have this done this to. I would like to see everyone utilized on the roster and he wasn't. We don't know anything more today about Fedko than we did when he first came up, when he actually looked a little better at the plate.

    I think the players liked Dick better than we did. And I think the Twins work to get all the Hall of Famers here if possible.

    It was when Mauer made the Hall of Fame with Beltre, I was at the game when they honored Mauer and there were numerous former players, both teammates and players before him. I also happened to be at the game when the Rangers honored Beltre, and Pudge was the only former player there. The Twins seem to keep their alumni connected.

    We have many options for DH with Jeffers back, I don't see him back until he can play the field.

    I will be shocked if Buxton is back next week. They are going to be ultra conservative and he will need to show he is healthy for at least a week before he is allowed near the field.

    Does he though, he really wasn't given a chance. So what he should work on is his base running.

    Zoll has been the GM since 2024, not six months. He has been the top guy for the last six months and he has shown that he is not up to the task of leading this team. We need somebody with some experience and knows how to balance analytics as a tool not as the decision maker.

    If it's to cover a game or two, you can put Lee there. He actually grades out better than Gray on defense.

    But we would be expecting Houston to play SS every day in the majors, if he is ready I don't have a problem but he wouldn't be up here to sit on the bench.

    You better hope they have a LH pitcher going because the analytic nerds have determined Gray is a better option than Kreidler against RH pitching.

    While I wouldn't mind them bringing up Houston, it is apples and oranges comparing him to Polanco. Polanco was brought up the first time because they had nobody else healthy on the 40 man roster and they needed someone short term. He was brought up to sit on the bench and fill out the roster only, not to play.

    I just got done watching Sprock for a couple of games in Cedar Rapids and kind of liked him. Now I am depressed he is gone. Not sure if he would have worked his way thru the system but it did look like he had some potential.

    And yet Gray is starting again tonight. The Twins seem to believe in him, just none of us can see why. To keep starting him over Kreidler, should be enough to send Zoll packing. This is an organizational decision, not just Shelton's to keep starting him.

    You need to take away Bell's glove, he should be nowhere the field. Lewis is doing fine over there and hitting just as well, why would you sit him for Bell.

    How much money do you want them to spend, it's easy to say they won't spend money, Falvey had at least $14m to spend this offseason and he chose to spend it on Bell and Caratini and no help for the bullpen. Both of these signings at the time were head scratchers, Bell was signed to play 1B, we have seen how that works out. Caratini was signed after we signed Jackson. So how about holding Falvey accountable for once, it isn't always about the amount of money but how you allocate the money.

    Yes we probably need to move on from Jeffers. But our catching situation is not as settled for 27 as many want to believe. Caratini and Jackson have looked good for the last month but can they sustain over a full season. Caratini has never started over 87 games and that was 5 years ago. Plus he will be 33 in another month. Jackson will be 31 before next season and has never started more than 37 games, again 5 years ago. Can Caratini hold up for 110 to 120 games, can Jackson step and still be productive for 60 to 70 games. They will need to sign someone in the offseason to take some of the load off of Caratini because I am not sure he can be your primary catcher for a full season.

    So Cleveland goes with a LH hitting heavy lineup and the one righty is the that gets to Ober. Sometimes it pays to play the best options available and tell the analytics staff to sit this one out.

    Use Paredes for innings out of the bullpen if needed but don't go into the game with a set number of innings he needs to pitch to stay stretched. That is what piggybacking implies you are doing and that is where the plan blows up. Use Paredes as the long guy out of the bullpen or send him back to St. Paul if you want to keep him stretched out.

    Maybe but you can't commit to o how many innings Paredes goes. And if Prieliepp is cruising with a low pitch count, why pull him. Either put him in the bullpen to control his innings or send him back to St. Paul where it is easier to control. We are supposedly in contention, worry about winning the game.
