    We need a sarcasm emoji, My comment was mostly made tongue in cheek. Remember the signings we did make this offseason, Caratini and Bell to play 1B. He had some money to spend and he made questionable signings based on the timing of when they were made. I am not sure I would trust him with additional dollars after signings like that.

    It was an infield single and he is hitting .190 with a .542 OPS over almost 200 plate appearances. I am looking at the other 70 games where he has done nothing. And his defense looks average to me. Are we a contender or not, if we are then he needs to either be on the bench or in St. Paul.

    Yes Falvey did modernize the front office, I will give credit to him for that. But the team has basically been a .500 team over his tenure. And there has been no real continuity from year to year, they have consistently been signing one year deals for castoffs to fill holes in the lineup. That is not sustainable. I know everyone wants to dump on the Pohlads and the way payroll was cut in 24 should have been handled differently. But Falvey kept trying to do the big splash contract, first with Donaldson, then with Correa. One player is not going to make a difference and every mid market team that has made these types of signings have moved off of them. You need to build a team around that player and Falvey didn't do that. He didn't do a good job of working with the resources given him, maybe he needs to be in a bigger market because markets this size don't typically operate the way he wanted to. This roster was built with input from Zoll, I am giving him as much credit or lack of credit for this mismanaged roster construction that they currently have. What we don't know is who was pushing some of the moves that we have all questioned but Falvey obviously approved them. Let's see where we end up this year, but calling up Gray in the middle of a pennant race after his lack of production is one sign of someone not doing their job. And we will see about the Kremer trade. He did do well on the Minter trade. But Zoll was instrumental in building this team, the only change is he now makes the final call. I think the best thing for this organization is to have a fresh start and an objective review of what is working and not working. They have to get off the treadmill of mediocrity and I don't know how it happens with the current structure. Yes I am excited that they are playing well and Shelton has obviously got them playing well. But is it sustainable, because I still see no plan. And I would like to stop riding this rollercoaster to the degree we do here in Minnesota.

    Couldn't wait to put Gray in the lineup. We will soon find out if it is a platoon situation or not. But a team serious about contending would not be running him out there except in an emergency.

    Matthews has 13 starts and been blown up 3 times. He averages 6 innings per start and typically gives up 3 to 4 runs. That is a good fifth starter and he only has 34 career starts. Do you want Sim back getting barely getting thru the 4th inning and the team in a hole they can't climb out of. There are no replacements for Matthews currently and I don't understand the rush to move him out of the rotation for a lot of might haves.

    I hope you are kidding about Bell. He can't play defense, he is an absolute butcher over there. If that is a strategy then we might as well sell because we sure won't win with him at 1B.

    Not sure why you are dropping Lewis down in the order, he has producing and taking some of the better AB's on the team. Caratini and Bell are a wash between the two of them, not sure I would take Bell unless you are giving Jeffers a day off behind the plate.

    Like bringing Gray back up, that is making this organization light years better. My only point is, that the same people are making the recommendations in 2026 as in 2025 and before. Zoll didn't necessarily pick out Gomez or Garcia to sign, someone on his staff that has been there before and after Falvey made the recommendation. Maybe Zoll is approving the better signing we will see. But Shelton was Falvey's hire, so if you like Shelton, Falvey should get the credit for it.

    They sent Wallner down after 25 AB's in 24 so I am not sure this is the case. Outman should not have even have been on the roster or Arcia for that matter. So I am not sure that a lot has changed, it feels more like wishful thinking than actual results.

    We can agree to disagree about Zoll abilities. But you are wrong about Falvey. He was hired in 2017 to be the President of Baseball Operations. Levine was then hired to be the General Manager reporting to Falvey. This is the typical set up in most front offices in baseball. Levine actually left because it sounded like Zoll actually was becoming Falvey's more trusted advisor even though he was below Levine on the org chart. We truly don't know how Falvey and Levine worked and who did what. But read the article from yesterday about Falvey's comments about how he ran the trade deadline. He was not acting as the de facto GM. It is purely opinion that Zoll is more talented when I have yet to hear of him receiving any calls from other teams for a promotion. He was handed one here and did not necessarily earn it.

    Lewis has the talent to be a cornerstone if he can unlock it. He has been healthy and is showing glimpses of it. It is up to him to unlock the talent but the coaches have to help with that as well. And one way is let him get settled and comfortable at one position. Regardless of talent they should be doing that at all positions. This Little League baloney of having players playing different positions every day is getting ridiculous. Take the spreadsheets away from the analytic nerds and set a lineup. As for Clemens, he has been a key contributor but do not consider him a cornerstone player or middle of the lineup fixture. He is one who can play different positions and be average or above, he is the perfect super utility guy who can get 400 AB's.

    I have no idea what restructuring you are talking about. The only change was Falvey left and Zoll became the top decision maker in February after the roster had been essentially set. But there have been no other changes announced. The PBO which was Falvey is the top position in the baseball operations and sets the vision from training, player development to setting the roster. The GM should be the one leading the effort to carry out that vision. You seem to imply that either Falvey was a figurehead or making all decisions by himself. The same people advising and supporting Falvey are still there, just now they advise and support Zoll. Zoll worked for Falvey for almost 10 years and was his top advisor as GM for the last two plus years but sounded like he was a key advisor prior to Levine leaving as well. Zoll obviously believes in this vision or he would have left. This is still an analytics driven organization led by Zoll. And Falvey hired Shelton and the coaching staff, not Zoll so at least get the facts correct. This team is in the same spot as last year at this time, now hopefully they don't have a collapse like last year but let's wait until the end of year to say if it's been a success or not. But I still do not believe this organization will be successful until they completely overhaul the front office. That is the responsibility of Tom Pohlad, not to be making any personnel decisions.

    I am not sure why you think Lewis is expendable, he has been hitting well since coming back and doing fine at 1B. He has also played a part in our last 3 late inning wins.

    I realize it wasn't a negative on Lewis. But forcing those bats into the lineup is just another example of the poor roster construction and I am not sure it is working. So why not try keeping the positions more static and get better options where needed

    You do realize these games still count before the deadline. Now is not the time to get cute but show some urgency and put your best 26 man roster together for every game. And every day Gray is on this roster they have not put together the best roster possible whether for 5 days or 5 weeks.

    In the last week he has played 3 games at 1B and 3 at 2B, doesn't sound like the every day first baseman. And he is being moved off of 1B by Jackson and Caratini, not exactly elite first baseman. And one of the games that he played 2B, when they did their musical chairs in the later innings, Clemens ended up at 1st and Lewis at 2B. So once again pick a position for him. If he maintains what he has been doing since coming back, he will be fine at 1B. Yes he needs to continue it for the remainder of the year, but let's give it a chance. There is no one on the roster to replace him.
