    Zoll has been with the organization since 2017 and per Falvey a key decision maker in personnel decisions for at least the last 5 years. He is obviously invested in and agrees with the philosophies that Falvey has implemented or he would not have stayed. And Falvey was not operating in a vacuum, his staff was advising and assisting in all the moves being made the last 10 years. None of those people have changed, the only change is Zoll is the now the final decision maker. Tom P should not be making any personnel decisions other than to approve additional budget or he could potentially say no to a trade for Ryan or Buxton for example for business reasons. But it is Zoll's show and he has no experience as the top guy and so far he is following the same template as Falvey.

    Wallner needs a change of scenery with a new organization. It isn't going to work here, there are plenty of options behind him starting with Jenkins. Move him for a bucket of balls if that is all they can get. The way he has been hitting in AAA, he should have been called up, but if feels as if they have moved on. He has had chances in the past, let him move on. We need to clear the excess of outfielders and he is an easy one to move. The outfield next Tuesday should be Jenkins, Buxton, Keaschall with either Larnach or Bell as DH. One of those two needs to be moved.

    I don't think Rojas is going to be starting anything playoff games ahead of any of those listed. He still has to show consistency in throwing strikes.

    And I see no path forward as the same people that were assisting Falvey including his top guy in Zoll are still here.

    I am guessing this was Falvey's call. Ownership is not evaluating the players and is saying player x is better than player y. I don't understand this narrative with blaming ownership for every trade idea not happening when it is not a budgetary issue. Falvey was a poor PBO and I don't think Zoll is much better as GM as he has the same people advising him.

    We are putting 8 or 9 right handed hitters in the lineup now against LH pitching. We face RH pitching a lot more than LH pitching. The goal needs to be to get quality players at every position and let them play. Quality play will win more games than not. The problem is we keep playing musical chairs to fit bats in the lineup that are only average because we think we need them in the lineup.

    I think we are a few years from this conversation, it would probably be with any new contract discussions.

    Roden is not a replacement for Larnach, if he is traded it needs to be to clear room for Jenkins.

    Kreidler had a career month in June and July he came back to his career norms. He started playing regularly middle of June and in July has been playing on a regular basis. And this is when his numbers have fallen off the cliff. I think it is more than a slump, this is who he is. He is not a regular on a team that wants to contend, you need an upgrade over him if you want to be considered a contender. I want the Twins to put quality on the field, stop running out the I hope they have something types.

    There is no way Buxton should be full time DH. His defense is not what it was 10 years but he is still above league average. And he has never done well as DH only. The first conversation is when should he transition to one of the corners then maybe DH.

    They have to move 2 or 3 outfielders at a minimum. Even if it is Wallner and Fedko. Fedko could be a DFA candidate if they need roster space. They have to clear space for AB'S for everyone.

    Today was a great game and fun to watch despite Sands blowup. But I am greedy, I want more games like this and a lot less like last weekend against the Cubs. But until they come up with a plan and decide who is going to play where. And if they don't have a position filled, fill it with talent not a cast off and hope you get something out of them. If that means bringing up your top prospects, then play them, otherwise bring in major league talent that has been productive in their career and not looking to rebound. The list of hope to find something is long and is not a way to produce a consistent winner. This year alone, you have had Gray, Arcia, Kreidler, Outman, Bell to a lesser degree. Those players are reserves at best or organizational filler. Bell is miscast as a clean up hitter. He would be better hitting in the 6th or 7th spot, but that is where we are at because of a lack of talent. You move Lewis to 1st then play him all over the infield, then when there are defensive changes you swap him and Clemens from where they have been playing. Is Keaschall better in the OF or 2B, find a position for him. And if you need upgrades do it this offseason. But this riding the middle ground is just running on a treadmill. I know we are supposed all roses and sunshine but like I said I am greedy I want more days like this and I don't see it happening with this current front office.

    One game puts him on a high currently. I loved his contribution today and it was great to see. He was batting .127 with an OPS of .322 for the month of July coming into the game. As soon he started to get regular playing time his offensive production declined, which is why he has been the waiver wire game. Can he be a good utility player, yes for this year for sure and maybe his offensive production will be better if he is not used in an every day role.

    I am not ready to put Abel in pen, I think he is going to have to show he is healthy and that he can throw strikes consistently. I am guessing he will start in St. Paul. I still believe in Matthews, he is consistently giving them 6 innings in his starts and giving up 3 or 4 runs. That is what you want from your fifth starter. Now if Rojas can pitch like he did yesterday and Abel can pick up where he left off then we will have a nice problem.

    Luke Keaschall entered play with a .493 OBP in July and an OPS over 1.000. This is why you do not take AB's away from Keaschall and platoon him. I really hope that will not be the plan when they start facing more RH pitchers.

    I can understand Prielipp but when are they going to increase Rojas usage. If feels like they still him have on this bulk pitcher nonsense and we do need starters that can be stretched out. You can't continue to use the bullpen like we have been, or it catches up and those series wins get harder.

    I know Sands blew up today, but he has had plenty of positive appearances over the years with the Twins and pitched six scoreless appearances in St. Paul. He earned his spot back on the roster, now he has to pitch better to keep it. Anderson has looked good in two appearances with the Twins and I am glad we kept in the organization. There will be other opportunities for him. But you don't keep someone with Sands resume down in St. Paul for someone with limited experience like Anderson. Kreidler has stablized shortstop on the defensive side, but he has definitely not been stepping up on the offensive side of the ball before day, he has a batting average of .127 and OPS of .344 in July. We can appreciate his performance today and enjoy it but let's not pretend that he is a consistent offensive threat. He is still taking good at bats and has been drawing walks, last night his double was one of the keys to the win. Maybe keeping him at one position might help. You need to give him the rest of the year.

    I would take my chances with Jeffers maintaining his production by catching another 20 games or so versus hoping Caratini can even catch 81 and still be productive at the plate. I get that is probably the direction they are heading, but we may be missing Jeffers next year by June more than we realize.

    Yes they did a good job in the month of June when Jeffers was out. But can they do it for a whole season. Caratini has never started more than 87 games at catcher and that was 5 years ago. And Jackson has never started more than 30 games and that was 5 years ago as well. You are going to expect them to catch a significant number of games more than they have in the past and still be productive, no more what the split is of games started. And Caratini will be 33 be the end of this season. There may not be any chance of having Jeffers next year, but I am not sure our catching situation is as solid as we are hoping it is. We have two good backup catchers that we will be hoping can take on a larger role.

    Buxton has struggled since coming back from his recent injury, and hopefully he can get it going. But to say Lewis is lost I don't understand. He has cooled off since his hot streak after coming from St. Paul. But he has drawing walks, laying off the outside pitch more and taking better AB's. Without his double last night, Roden's single would have just been a base hit and no RBI. Give him this year and see what he can do, he has shown signs that he can turn it around. And he is one of the most talented players on this team, so you should root for him to start showing it on the field which he needs to do. Because this team will be much better if he can do it.

    They haven't committed him to be a starter, they were using him in St. Paul as a bulk guy. I agree, start extending his outings and make him a starter.

    Their farm system is currently ranked in the top 10. I get adding more to that. But at some point you have to use those assets either here in Minnesota or trade them for quality front line starters in your lineup. It feels like they just keep adding but when do we see these additions contributing to a winning team. You want a winning a team next season, how does that happen if they keep adding more prospects then don't give them a shot up here.
