    He needs to play everyday, there is always a reason not to call someone up, There are no excuses to me anymore other than Zoll is incompetent.

    They need to get set positions, that is the first step in fixing the defense. Guys like Clemens can move around, but not everyone has the ability or is comfortable doing it.

    All the talk about Keaschall in CF, he is learning the position on the fly. But there is a solution, the front office is just too stubborn or not competent enough to pull the trigger.

    That is kind of my point, improve the defense so you can put in a role where he will be more successful and therefore the team will be too. I see many comments over many different posts where they want starting somewhere, I don't think that is his best role.

    Thanks to this mismanaged roster, we have Caratini and Jackson, so basically no viable options to pinch hit if needed.

    Clemens is still someone to me who needs to play 4 to 5 days a week in a super utility role. He has definitely exceeded expectations but I don't think playing every day is the best use of Kody. His average and OPS are basically league average and I think he contributes better in a super utility role.

    Need a spot for Kreidler, so that makes sense.

    He finally went back to what got him to the major leagues. He has been going with the pitch more to RF, one example was the walkoff hit against KC and I think he will continue. I really don't the Twins tinkering with him right now. This front office has a history of trying to change the swings of our prospects going all the way back to Buxton and it has never worked out. Martin, Lee and now Lewis have all mentioned this. It is one thing to work and suggest tweaks within their normal framework but they have tried to completely overhaul swings and it's not working.

    So he struggles in the second instead of the first inning.

    You would sit Lewis who has been our hottest hitter just so Roden can play. This is the problem with this team, they need some set positions and then someone needs a day off you slot them in. But Roden is not the answer and I would not sit Lewis for Roden or move him to 2B so Bell can be a butcher at 1B.

    Kreidler should be playing once or twice a week, Lee is the third baseman until they find a better replacement. If Jenkins is up here, he needs to play every day and sure not sit for Roden. Roden needs to be sent down at some point, he has not grabbed hold of any of his opportunities. He is either an injury replacement like now for Buxton or he should be in St. Paul.

    Yes I saw that article and I agree about Martin but Kreidler is a utility player at most. Kriedler's numbers went off the cliff when he started playing full time, to me it's fairly obvious what his role should be, but now Shelty seems determined to fit him into the lineup similar to Caratini. And I hope that feeling fades.

    If only we had a real CF in St. Paul that could help this team. And put Kreidler on the bench as a late inning replacement where he is most effective.

    I am not sure where you get 2 million fans in attendance from. This year is 1.7m, so getting to 2m may or may not be feasible. And I don't think they are planning any ticket increases, my season tickets aren't going up next year. You have made a lot of assumptions but without seeing the books you have no idea. Tom P. has said payroll will go up. but will the money be spent wisely, that is the question we should be asking. If Zoll is still in charge I wouldn't count on it.

    They still have three catchers and Jackson needs to go before Martin, you just can't keep carrying 3 catchers and not utilizing a roster spot.

    Why is it to early to judge Roden. Everyone seems to forget he had a run with Toronto playing regularly the first month of the season last year with a batting ave of .188 and OPS of .541. He has done nothing in three different stints to guarantee playing time. There are better options coming up behind him.

    My understanding that was Falvey continuing his gutting of the scouting department because it is all about analytics. In other word this was an operational decision on how to structure the baseball operations.

    Roden has just over 200 AB's and a batting ave of .199 and OPS of .557. He has had three different stints in the major leagues and has done nothing to grab ahold of any of these opportunities. This was not his only time up here and he just has not performed well enough to earn a spot when there are others ready to come up behind him. I am not for signing Hayes, I would rather have Jenkins up here.

    Roden hasn't played against LH pitching and he shouldn't even be in the lineup every day regardless of who is pitching.

    My comment was in response to keeping Lewis at 1B every game. Caratini has been playing there almost every game against LH pitching. It is not helping the offense and making the defense worse. Play either Larnach or Roden, at least they can play their defensive positions better than Caratini at first. Any offense from any of those three would be a bonus.

    While he may have to move when Houston is ready to come up I think it is a little early to make a declaration about his position based on one game.

    We need to start looking at the results that Zebby is producing. I always see comments he didn't do this or this should have been better. But he is consistently getting into the 6th inning giving up 2 to 4 runs and keeping his team in the game. As noted, he got no help from the defense. But sometimes we have to stop looking at the analytics and look at the final results. And he is doing his job more times than not and for a # 4 or 5 pitcher that is pretty good.

    But how would you get Caratini's bat in the lineup if you did that. 😀
