    Actually at the time of the move it was reported the move was in anticipation for when Culpeper came up. Any organization making moves to make room for Gray or Kreidler should get the leader fired.

    It was actually Matthews that was moved for Kremer, Anderson is being replaced in the bullpen by Minter. At least Minter is an upgrade over Anderson. You can't say the same for Kremer vs. Matthews.

    Larnach is hitting 40 points higher than Bell and his OPS is over 100 points. And he can at least play average defense so he does give some flexibility.. And he has been more consistent than Bell. Bell should never be allowed to play 1B, so absolute no flexibility.

    Again results mean nothing. So he can consistently get into the 6th inning giving up 2 to 4 runs and he is not a starter. Has a career high in strike outs and they send him down. Abel has now shown he can do it yet or has Rojas. I will take the one who is producing.

    Another bang on Lewis OP. You even disagree with what Shelton said he should have done. Some of these plays are instinct and that comes from playing the position. At some point lets see an article about the benefits and downsides to the team constantly playing musical chairs on defense. Lewis was playing 3B at an acceptable level and it was not his play that moved him, they were preparing for Culpepper at SS so they shuffled the infield. His throwing was improved from last year when he had leg injuries and the question needs to be asked was that affecting him.

    You are assuming that 8MM would be sent in a wise manner. Remember last year with $14m available they signed Bell to play 1B and Caratini when they already had a backup catcher. So maybe it would be worth it to sign Larnach. But they do have something with the excess of outfielders on the 40 man roster, there is just not enough AB's to go around between St. Paul and Minneapolis. At least two probably three need to be removed and you still have depth for injuries. This needs to be done before next season at some point.

    Jenkins could be up here today even with Larnach on the roster. An outfield of Larnach, Jenkins and Keaschall is the best outfield we could play currently. If anyone should go to clear playing time it is Bell. But is there any market for him.

    What has Roden done to show he is a capable option as stated. His leash has to be short, we have other guys coming up behind him that will need a chance. And Roden just has not grabbed hold of any of his opportunities and run with it.

    He has played 30 games at 1B and is learning on the fly. This is on the organization for playing musical chairs with the defensive alignment. I am sure you never made a mistake in your first month when you started your career.

    He gave up 3 runs in 5 plus innings, he made the necessary adjustments. That is what you want to see from your less experienced pitchers. Both Prieliepp and Matthews should be in the rotation right now unless they get a #3 or better. They are giving a chance to win most every game they pitch.

    And stop moving him from game to game. Commit to him as the first baseman and let him play.

    Caratini is not the answer over Jeffers. He had a career month in June and in July he has come back to earth with his .526 OPS,

    At some point you have to put the spreadsheet away and look at the results. Two runs in 7 innings is yellow, that throws this analysis into very much doubt.

    The next two weeks are important as well, I would think they would want the best roster possible. But then again Gray and Roden are here as well. Not sure these are the moves of a contending team

    They just released a picture of Kremer's new number. He will be the number 5 starter. This is just a continuation of Falvey's playbook, have a younger player who is producing and showing promise and replace him with an underperforming vet. I would understand more if he replaced Preiliepp, but it makes no sense to replace Zebby with Kremer.

    So is Rojas going to give you 6 innings per outing while giving up 3 to 4 runs, because that is what you are moving on from. And in a pennant race at least you know Matthews will give you a chance. Rojas has looked good the last couple of outings but still struggles throwing strikes.

    Then who is the fifth starter, Rojas is not stretched out. There was no reason to send Zebby down.

    So performance doesn't matter with this team. Kremer is not an upgrade over Zebby.

    He has had three stretches in the major leagues and has yet to show anything that warrants regular playing time. He is almost 27, just because we traded for him shouldn't guarantee him playing time.

    Planned piggybacking hasn't and won't work. If you want him for long relief for when the starter can't give you enough innings that is fine. But trying to plan your pitching moves prior to the game never works.

    We need a sarcasm emoji, My comment was mostly made tongue in cheek. Remember the signings we did make this offseason, Caratini and Bell to play 1B. He had some money to spend and he made questionable signings based on the timing of when they were made. I am not sure I would trust him with additional dollars after signings like that.
