  1. There are two other higher ranked outfield prospects with more potential upside ahead of him currently. It is going to be hard for him to get playing time with ERod and Jenkins ahead of him.
  2. I do not understand how you can 100% guarantee this, there is only one person who knows this and that is Buxton. I don't believe he is dumb or naive and hasn't thought through everything you are saying and yet he has chosen to stay here and has made that public information. He is here through 2028 so we might as well get used to that. If anything changes I don't believe it will be public until an actual transaction occurs.
  3. The Twins biggest area of need is a competent front office. This front office has been given 10 years and produced one wild card win. Bring someone in that can develop a plan sell it to TP and help sell it to the fans. Otherwise any moves made will be viewed with skepticism because will there really be a plan behind them. There are some good suggestions in the comments but I don't believe the current front office will do much different than the past. Sign some league average at best 30 something veterans and hope to compete in a weak division. They will continue to favor the lesser talented veterans over the potential upside of the younger players. They have already shown this down the stretch run.
  4. I think Lewis has improved at 1B and will continue to if given the time. Yes he needs to hit and I get if they move on but I think he has found a position. I don't understand the statement that he is hard to coach, I am not sure where that comes from. I have not seen reports that have said or even hinted at this.
  5. But that doesn't explain keeping him on the active roster multiple times after the trade deadline. It made sense for the couple of weeks after Jeffers returned from injury to keep him on the roster until the trade deadline. But the handling of him after defies any explanation.
  6. Same question, how are you going to trade Buxton, he is here for two more years. Just because people want him to move on, doesn't it's going to happen.
  7. I think these moves show that Zoll is going to be back and I really thought they would evaluate what was needed to lead the organization moving forward. If they have concluded that Zoll is the answer on the baseball side, this organization is more lost than ever.
  8. They are going to have to make decisions before the CBA is finalized. You can't wait' until February or March to set your budget. And if history is an indicator, teams are going to be aggressive in November before the lockout, if we do nothing then, it won't matter what the budget is.
  9. You must be part of Buxton's inner circle to make this claim. I am sure he and his family looked at all his options with input from his agent and he stated he wanted to be here. That is all we can go on, are his words, no one can speak for him.
  10. The team isn't going to force a trade if he wants to be here. Regardless of how frustrated we are with the amount of games missed by Buxton, he has produced when in the lineup and has earned this right both contractually and from a business sense to be deferred to on this decision.
  11. His hip locked up on him during the game, yes it may have been predictable it would happen but the night before he was 3 for 5 and running around like the Buxton we know. And the weekend before he had a nice diving catch. Yes we can debate all day as to when he should have been shut down, but to make it sound like he started the game injured and couldn't move is incorrect. It happened during the game and they knew reinjury was a risk.
  12. We don't even know yet if Abel is going to be a major league pitcher. He had two good outings out of four this year and last year had a couple of good starts. Yes he has the stuff but has had trouble throwing strikes. Will he solve that and become a fixture in the rotation, that would be great but who knows when and if it will happen. Many comments seem to suggest that he has a spot secured in the rotation next year, right now he is probably #6 or 7 depending on who is brought back.
  13. He probably was by default this year, but it doesn't mean that he isn't without flaws.
  14. Tampa kept saying the same thing as well. I still believe he needs to show more consistency with his command and keep his head in the game at all times to take the next step. If he does that, he very well could be our top starter and it would be a benefit to the team.
  15. This year he probably was our best starting pitcher. But there are many comments on here about him being our ace going into next year, that I don't believe unless both Pablo and Joe are not back.
  16. The question was MVP and I don't consider Taj the MVP. If he is our most valuable pitcher, I don't think that bodes well for the future. Until he can find his command with consistency he is a middle of the rotation pitcher in my opinion.
  17. Based on what, if it is saves, then so is Ron Davis.
  18. And they wouldn't put Jenkins in the starting lineup.
  19. In my opinion Taj is still too inconsistent to be considered the top pitcher of our staff and MVP. There have been games where he has not had his command. You can talk about whatever metrics you want, I am looking at on field performance. I am not down on Taj, I just consider him more of a middle rotation type pitcher.
  20. You asked for an explanation and I provided it.
  21. I would probably go with Keaschall or Lee, they have been the most consistent producers. I really think Buck does deserve some consideration only because we were truly in it when he was still in the lineup. But you have to be available and he wasn't down the stretch run plus.
