    The same regime is still here that traded for Mendez. That is why Outman was left on the roster at the beginning and they are trying to force Roden into the lineup. I don't understand this narrative that there was change to the front office. Falvey was let go and Zoll his #2 was made the top voice. But all the same people are still advising and assisting Zoll that did the same duties for Falvey. Nothing has changed and bringing up Gray a month ago and Jackson again pretty much proves the point it is business as usual as it has been for the last 10 years.

    I hear what you are saying but Jackson has not pinch hit once in his prior stint with the Twins, why would he now. And while you may be right, they have to stop worrying what side of the plate a hitter stands on, especially Jenkins. And honestly, this isn't a shot at you, but this constant they aren't ready refrain is getting a little old. No player at AAA is 100% ready, you need to bring them up and let them finish their learning curve that can only happen at this level. This mentality is why we keep having the one year veteran and journeyman flowing thru this roster leading to .500 baseball at best. Our farm system keeps getting highly rated, but then we don't use it to either trade for impact players or play them up here.

    I posted immediately after this news and 24 hours I am even more frustrated. I have yet to see a rational argument for this move in any article about this or the comments. You can debate about who to call up, but at a minimum it should have been a outfielder. I like Larnach and he has had a good season, but is he really untouchable to sit a day or two. The same for Bell, he has been league average all year, now he is on a hot streak, ride it while you can, but I am not sure he can't sit either. This team is 4 games below .500, the longest winning streak is 4 games and losing streak is 5 games this season. I understand the argument that you are going to ride the same players but why not try and give them a boost. Be honest and objective is this team capable of a 10 game winning streak, maybe if everything goes right, but why not try and provide a boost. Also having an outfielder you could stop playing Kreidler and Clemens in the outfield, they are not outfielders. Their athleticism will help them run down flyballs the same as Keaschall but they have to make other plays. But to call up somebody to just sit, at least call up Sabato to play against lefties or Wallner to pinch hit late in games, at least there would be a reason for them to sit on the bench because there is none for Jackson.

    No they don't have to announce a detailed plan, but their actions should indicate some sort of plan. Until the past few years I have always been able to see at least some plan from the team based on the actions going back to the 70's. Now there is no indication of a a plan and what they are trying to accomplish. Yes they want to win but how, their actions don't tell us anything. And as fans we should be able to see something to give us a reason to support this team.

    The Twins team and a few posters in the Jackson promoted forum topic. Can't take away ab's from Bell or Larnach or Clemens.

    But yet we keep being told the offense doesn't need any help.

    This team seems to have no faith in their player development, especially on the position player side. Even trading for Outman and Roden last year didn't make a lot of sense when reasonably at that time ERod and Jenkins were reasonably knocking on the door to come up some time in 2026. And ERod should have started the year in Minneapolis. It is just truly baffling how they won't trust these guys and put a journeyman instead on the roster. This includes playing Gray over Culpepper before he was hurt.

    You really believe they will play their best 9 every day because I don't. This offense has done nothing for the past month plus, so what you call the best 9 is not getting the job done. Larnach and Clemens both need to get going to play every day. Clemens has started to hit the last two games, so maybe he is breaking out.

    You may be correct, but calling up first Gray when Buxton went on the IL and now calling up Jackson makes lose any credibility they may have when it comes to fielding a competitive team.

    Audra's explanation of Jackson's role is not very comforting. How often is Jeffers going to DH and then what are the odds that Caratini goes down. That is just a poor excuse for having a third catcher especially when you have a full time DH that they don't seem inclined to sit. This team is rudderless.

    Should call up Diaw from Wichita, you want to be prepared in case all three catchers get injured in the same game, you need another one to come in.

    When Martin pinch hit it was also for defensive purposes, he would pinch hit for Larnach when they knew he would be going in for defense. Totally different situation for Jackson, there were times he could have pinch hit when he was up before and they chose not to. A totally wasted roster spot.

    The follow up question should have been, what is Jackson's role.

    He was slumping long before he got hit on the knee. His OPS in July was .526.

    He didn't pinch hit last time he was up, why would that change.

    That is the question are they really trying to make the playoffs, calling up Jackson is not a signal of trying to make the playoffs. So there are conflicting signals there. I get what you are saying but how many players play 162 games any more and I do believe Buxton will not be in CF every day. Larnach and Clemens can easily sit a couple of days a week and Keaschall can play 2B. It can be done, and trying to provide a spark for the team is worth if you are truly trying to win. This offense needs a jolt and whether ERod or Jenkins can provide it, but try something.

    Be careful, Clemens is a sacred cow and can do no wrong, facts are irrelevant.

    When you don't call up a potential difference maker of course it won't make a difference. They made moves at the deadline and then stopped making moves. That makes them even more inept and they make moves like this and I don't know how much further down the inept scale they can go.

    Agree with everything you say, but I am afraid Jackson will be here to stay now. He will basically the 14th player in September and still be a wasted roster spot. They are so afraid of losing this superstar they won't expose him again.

    There would be plenty of AB's for Jenkins between the other 3 outfielders and Bell. Everyone sits one day and there is 4 days, finding a fifth wouldn't be difficult. Even if you had to play Keaschall at 2B a couple of days a week, Clemens has gone into his slump, so you could sit him a day or two as well. Managers do this all the time, you find ab's for good players, not the average ones like Bell and Clemens.
