  1. I have said this before, he has shown a willingness to move positions. He played CF, he moved to 3B, when before they got Correa he was looking to be the shortstop. I think it is based on timing of the move, do it in the offseason or send him to Ft. Meyers for a mini spring training to get him comfortable. At some point you have to pick a position for him, he has been putting in the work at 3B, while he was not a plus defender, I am not as down as others on his defense. But you have to give him time and he really hasn't been given that. He was not unwilling to move to 2B, his concern was not making a play because he was new to the position and costing his team during a pennant race.
  2. Not if they have played this long, no reason not to continue.
  3. Clemens is the only position player of this group that should have consideration for next year. But only as a bench player, playing a couple of times a week or when there are injuries. Kreidler is not going to all of sudden turn into Castro or Escobar just because some want it to happen. He couldn't even beat out Gray coming out of spring training. I will enjoy his success when it happens but expectations are being kept low.
  4. According to MILB his home runs were measured at 405 and 406 feet. I know many want to trash Lewis on here, but at least be fair when you do it.
  5. I am not against multi-inning relief appearances. It is the plan they have with Rojas as stated by Maki. They are committed to a four day schedule with 45-60 pitches You can't come into the game with a preordained plan. It almost blew up on them in the 7th inning yesterday, similar to what they did with Abel in the opening series. You can't just keep a guy out there in the 7th inning or later just because you want them to get work based on a plan. You have to manage based on the game situation. If they want to keep him stretched out then send him to St. Paul. They currently have no starters there because every pitcher down there is on the bulk plan pitching no more than 4 innings per outing. My issue is this bulk pitching plan, it needs to be phased out in AAA and the major leagues at a minimum.
  6. So is he a starter or reliever. This plan works better in St. Paul. one more base runner in the 7th, they would have had to consider bringing in another pitcher. They have to get away from this bulk pitching nonsense.
  7. Is Kreidler or Arcia at SS vs. 3B going to add an appreciable number of additional wins. IMHO that will add up to one or maybe two wins over the course of a season and have no impact for 2027. So for that you are moving someone who hasn't really played that poorly to warrant to be moved. Hopefully he is on board with the move, but I am not sure it sends the right message.
  8. It doesn't look he had a natural position, he played SS and the OF mostly other than 2B in the minors and college.
  9. Regarding Keaschall's fielding, there are moments he has looked better. It does look like going to his right he still struggles. But he has less than a full season worth of games between the minors and major leagues at 2B. I think he has the athleticism that he can become at least serviceable there. Not everyone comes up a finished product. Koskie was brutal at 3B and did improve with time. I think a little patience is warranted as long he starts to hit better.
  10. It's too far out to say for sure. This is Minnesota's only trip to Boston, they will do everything they can to get the game in.
  11. So is Adams heading back to St. Paul after the game, so they can activate Bradley.
  12. He gave up two runs in his final three innings. Yes he labored to get thru 4 innings and would have liked to see him go longer. But he is really our #5 starter, he has been fine and at least held them after the first inning.
  13. He cut his lip sliding head first into second, they couldn't stop the bleeding.
  14. Then put a real option out there, Kreidler is not an option to be an every day shortstop at this point in his career.
  15. They made a decision to make Lee the every day shortstop at the beginning of the season. While his play has not been spectacular, it has not been at the level that he should be displaced. If you move him, it should be for another proven veteran shortstop or a top prospect, Kreidler is neither. IMHO this is sending the wrong message to the player. And this is my frustration with the Twins they appear to favor the vets over the younger players. And these are not vets with a proven track record. And this happened throughout the Falvey tenure and appears to be continuing with Zoll.
  16. I don't believe Lee should move off short for Kreidler. He hasn't played that poorly to move him for a utility player.
  17. I don't want him in the lineup or even on the roster, this is more of an indictment of Zoll's decision making to even bring him up here.
  18. And why is Kreidler not at 3B, Lee is the shortstop. Show faith in him, the decision was made for him to be the starting shortstop, don't move him around especially for a utility player. And Kreidler actually played the most games at 3B this year in St. Paul. And people wonder why the young players don't have success.
  19. No Arcia in the lineup against a LH. For all those that said he would be a great trade chip at the deadline, he first needs to get on the field. But why is he here if they aren't even going to play him against LH pitching. He is another bad option but you would think he would be in there at some point.
  20. Moving Royce to another position now would be management malpractice. His hitting mechanics are completely out of whack, who knows truly where his head is at and than you want to throw more on his plate. Let him figure out his hitting and stay where he is comfortable. If you want to look at a position change, do it in the offseason. And no I don't believe Royce ever refused to play second, his comments were that he did not want to make a mistake when they were still in a pennant race that cost the team at a position he was not familiar with. He has changed positions for the team, so I think the whole not moving to 2B narrative is overblown. These are human beings and having them comfortable where they play is beneficial. Now some players get more preference than others due to different factors. And at the time Royce had earned the right to stay at third. Remember Dozier resisted moving off of hitting leadoff near the end of his time even when he was struggling. But he had earned the respect of his manager to keep him there similar to Buxton this year. But this has been going on throughout the history of baseball.
