  1. Maybe he matches up well with the particular pitcher? I think i was asleep at the time, so hindsight being 20-20, you'd think i might know... But alas, ya got me!
  2. Is there any kind of chicken dinner for a moral victory? Like, maybe a moral chicken dinner, maybe? Oh well.
  3. Surely you can't be serious! But i am glad to hear both you and the Twins have found your second winds. We got to catch 'em eventually if we just keep halving their lead!
  4. G' night! I didn't even get to see it... Got no love for 4-0 deficit, neither.
  5. Yeah... best not to assume the position players are doing all they can. Always can get better, can't we?
  6. So i coulda gotten away with wishing ya it before tomorrow's game, but once it started, i'd be too late. Thanks for the acccuracy. "On the last day of summer, 10 hours before fall, my grandfather took me out to the wall. For a while he stood silent, then finally he said, with a very sad shake of his very old head..."
  7. 10:05 PM ET Liam Hendriks... "Now there's a name i haven't heard in a long time." I'm tempted to just quote Star Wars ad nauseum, but i moght not be online enough to fill a game thread with it. But roads must roll and game threads must... thread the game? And so long as i am here, i'll play bobbin. La tortuga is catching again. There is hope we can measure up, perchance even affect a play off picture, at least a little. I like the nickname, as on the small roads in central Mass, one often comes across hand painted turtle x-ing signs. There is even a turtle in El Mariachi, the movie what brought Robert Rodriguez into notice. Anyway, i hope we play good. And well. Although i confess grammar is the least of my concerns with this club. Y'all have at it! Twins Jose Berrios ( R) 1. Joe Mauer (L) 1B 2. Jorge Polanco (S) SS 3. Jake Cave (L) CF 4. 8. Palka hit a a home run which, well, almost stood for a 1-0 win over Cleveland. I was listening to the game as i drove into western Pennsylvania, and lost radio signal in the 9th. Since there is no Twins game tonight, i'm watching to see if Boston can clinch their division in Yankee Stadium. As always, their games are very slow. Advertisers win, audience loses. I hope Hicks does something of note... I miss being able to follow ex-Twin David Ortiz in the box scores!
  9. And in response to a query i made in yesterday's game thread, i took a moment to look at our remaining schedule. All postponed games have been made up, it seems, so we can win out for a 500 record. Wouldn't that be nice?
  10. Thanks! Nice to know he landed on his feet.
  11. 6-0 Twins in the blink of an eye... I mean the refresh of a browser.
  12. And Anderson followed Gardenhire to Detroit, eh? Good for them. Is that where Dougie Baseball landed too?
  13. Er... Noon i guess. Was on the west coast Saturday... Realized during the 6th inning i was in radio range and heard the end of last night's game on WCCO in Iowa and Illinois. Just passed into Indiana and eastern time a little while ago, so um, make fun of my mistake mericlessly. Oh yeah. Line ups: Twins Gabriel Moya (L) 1. Logan Forsythe ( R) DH 2. Jorge Polanco (S) SS 3. 14. I heard tell today is talk like a pirate day on the radio. That true? Or was i a victim o' fake news? I always miss it, just as i almost always miss fluff fest celebrating the invention of marshmallow fluff as a food item. Does a game with an opener not really start until the second inning? Today's game thread is devoted to such deep questions... Line ups to follow, but we got a 4 run lead already so this should be posted sooner rather than later...
  15. Oh yeah... Winnah! (It's like we're so used to that these days, it isn't even worth mentioning)
  16. 81 losses... If we win out, do we avoid a losing season? Or is there a postponed game likely not to be made up because there are no post season implications?
  17. Thought for a moment it said chicken shark. Still think it should say that. "Just when you thought it was safe to grab a drumstick..."
  18. As expected. Meh. It's just the Yankees... Let's wait until they face a real team.
  19. Building up trade value?
  20. Ya know, i could get used to winning...
  21. He was amongst the names in amid all the Santana speculation once upon a time, wasn't he? (Kennedy... not Grossman)
