  1. Thanks for this. He is my second adopted prospect and I linked to this. Very good work!
  2. Good lord (literally). He's using his religion to condemn someone as a "non-christian." FYI people: one can be a Christian and not hate gay people or think they are special dirty sinners at the same time. Or, if that is a wrong interpretation of my part, PERHAPS the religion itself should be called into question?
  3. Jose Berrios and Josh Burris combined for a very good outing tonight. These two are a nice combo and I like the potential down the road for both of them. Tonight: 9 IP, 11 K, 1 BB, 5 H, and only one earned run. Expect more of the same from them.
  4. The Twins have come up with some formula to manage a 12-10 record. Oh wait, Gardenhire didn't figure out a way to get a righty and lefty ready in the sixth tonight . . . . still 11-11. While I believe Arcia is the first to go down when Mastro returns (which is when??), I don't think that I want to see that because I think that both Arcia and Hicks are going to get to the "law of averages" and even if that means .230 (H), .250 (A)/ .320 (H), 310 (A)/.340 (H), .380 (A), I am ok with that since they are going to be better from here on out this season and be better prepared for the future. I am thinking that Mastro may have an extended rehab and that things will work themselves out. Doumit is going to see his time . . . because MAUER NEEDS A DAMN DAY OFF (how is that NOT OBVIOUS this manager by now). People like the idea of Mauer catching 120+ games. I don't. I see disaster in that. I like the number 100 for him.
  5. Herrmann is 11-for-27 in his last 6 games with a double and 7 rbi. The k/bb rate is disappointing so far this year, again. I am looking forward to this turning around soon.
  6. Q & A with JD Williams - Blogs - Minnesota Twins News & Rumors Forum Big thanks to SD Buhr for this interview. Williams is impressing this year and has a good attitude about baseball. He has some impressive athletic ability to go with it, so 2013 will be interesting to watch.
  7. Yes he did. It was a good outing through five. There is no reason to push it. There is no reason, also, with a rested bullpen to not have a lefty and a righty ready to go early in the sixth. One or both were going to be pitching in the seventh anyway if Pelfrey was fine. But he wasn't and SOMEHOW Duensing wasn't ready to face Fielder. That is just inexcusable managing.
  8. Goddamn it. I was actually saying out loud as I drunkenly watch this game: DUENSING'S gotta be ready for this. And then I see Anderson trot out instead . . . unbelievably terrible.
  9. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for not having Duensing ready for that. NONE.
  10. Arcia will be the guy sent down first. That is clear.
  11. Brave indeed. Chris Broussard is off his rocker. And forget "tolerance" and move toward acceptance.
  12. This is absolutely correct. Spot on in every way. And there was one game where, at third, I sat back for two innings in a row (and the only thing that was good about me and baseball at that point WAS my defense at third in particular) and I ended up getting handcuffed by hops to up to about my belly, which is bad if you are staying down the whole time. My coach instructed me on what I was doing while I was in the on deck circle before the next inning started. He didn't bench me, he just pointed out what I was doing wrong. He also didn't complain about me to the local newspaper either.
  13. JaDamion Williams RF-LF-CF 5'11'', 183 pounds Bats: both, Throws: right DOB: 11-20-1990 Known for his blazing speed, Williams had a fantastic season in 2011 at Elizabethon, but was a bit overshadowed by Sano and Rosario. 2012 was a bad year for Williams at low-A. So far in 2013 he is off to a strong start returning to low-A ball. His OPS is 1.052 and he has already hit 3 homers, which was half his total for all of 2012. After a bad k/bb rate in 2012 of 39/115, he has turned in a 14/11 rate so far, which is a very good thing to see. He has already swiped 6 bags and looks much more like the player from 2011. Williams could very likely finish the season at Fort Myers and he will be an interesting player to watch in the outfield over the next few seasons to see where he measures up against the rest of the deep OF pool found in the Twins organization.
  14. I submit 2011 AA seasons for Parmelee and Benson, and Hicks' 2012 season as evidence, kab21. Also Hicks' 2010 time at Beloit got a bit old as well.
  15. This got pretty lame. The OP was good enough, certainly, to have a conversation about the actual content and not to get into some serious grammatical masturbation. Hicks has been better over the last few weeks. This is what to expect when a guy skips a level.
  16. There's a whole bunch of pitching available . . .
  17. Well, like almost everyone is raking in the system at the bottom now (Buxton and Sano are super-raking). Meanwhile the Twins have a bunch of players who are in EST or injured like Kepler. When Kepler gets to Cedar Rapids, I would promote Buxton and watch the team in Fort Myers with Buxton, Michael, Rosario, Sano, and Vargas. Sano, Rosario, Michael, and Vargas can then get some AA time this year. I understand patience, but I don't like such patience at the lower levels. Challenging these players with promotions mid-season just seems to be the way to go, in my view. Arcia moved quickly, Hicks did not and the development of those two is pretty telling. Same for Parmelee and Benson. I don't really get the fascination with keeping players at low-A and then later at AA for 500-1,000 plate appearances. The FSL is the first real test and there is value in AAA time. With regard to Buxton, I merely move his ETA up a full year (from 2016 to 2015). But hopefully he spends some time at EVERY level along the way.
  18. I think Hicks is slowing getting the hang of it. If not, then they could *really* reach and try out Danny Ortiz. Ortiz could end up being Mastroianni's replacement within a couple years anyway.
  19. Yeah, no kidding. I put the vast majority of the blame on "Machoianni."
  20. Well I was erroneously thinking that he had to be added to the 40-man in November. If that were true, it would make sense to consider a September callup. But nevermind!
  21. I will answer for you TwinsTwerp, you DON'T have any evidence for the claim. In fact there is pretty telling evidence in the opposite direction in that he was heavily investigated and the dude keeps GROWING. But keep on spouting a lie. Anyway, I was thinking that he had to be added to the 40-man this year. That is wrong, I believe. That definitely changes things.
  22. What a bunch of garbage. Where do you have any ****ing evidence of this?
  23. Sano will likely be a September 2013 callup and then potentially a June 2014 callup. This will change if he regresses significantly in the next few months.
  24. Good article, though some analysis of the infield over the next few years would help.
